Im Prinzip stellt sich ja auch Joseph Beuys’ Kernaussage, dass jeder Mensch ein Künstler sei in diesen Tagen als umfassende Wahrheit dar. Und dies trotz aller Anfeindungen durch sehr „konservative“ Betrachter, die seit jeher dem „Düsseldorfer Schamanen“ und seinem Meisterschüler und Epigonen Johannes Stüttgen „Scharlatanerie“ vorhalten und entgegnen, dass Kunst eben etwas Erhabenes, auf dem Olymp – oder im Museum Thronendes und insofern Unantastbares sei.
Im Zuge des all umfassenden Austeritäts-, also Sparsamkeitswahns jedoch werden kaum noch mittel- und langfristige – also gewissermaßen „nachhaltige“ Investitionen getätigt – es wird primär gebastelt und geflickschustert auf allen Ebenen – auf (fast) allen Baustellen. Quartalsweise Abschreibungszyklen und kumulierende Zins- und Zinseszinslasten – und viele andere Auswüchse eines kranken „Systems“ sorgen dafür, dass jeder versucht, irgendwie den Bestand – seine Baustelle – von der Bretterbude bis zur Luxusyacht zu retten. Im allgemeinen Misstrauen, in dem da jeder sich selbst der Nächste ist wird da auch so manches alte Haus kaputt gebastelt und so mancher Hausbesitzer vermeint so, Bestand – und Zeit zu überbrücken. Andere schmeißen kurzerhand die Mieter raus und betreiben dann aufwändige Sanierungen mit danach fast verdoppelter Miete. Viele betätigen sich also da als Künstler – als Maurer und Trockenbauer – als Planer und Architekten mithin – denn – in der Endphase der „Krise“ heißt’s jeder gegen jeden und Beratungs- und Planungskosten also – die spart man ein – das kann man selber. Oder eben – man beruft sich auf das inzwischen bedingungslos geltende „Recht des Stärkeren“ und schüttet das Kind mit dem Bade aus – Tabula Rasa – ein Haus ohne Menschen. Die Mietpreisspekulation wird irgendwann auch aufgehen – zumindest einer wird gewinnen. Beratungsresistenz und immer mehr durch den Gesetzgeber geschützte Rücksichtslosigkeit – um nicht zu sagen – pure Barbarei scheint da im allgemeinen Argwohn der Centfuchserei und der kurzfristigen Ertragsmaximierung die Regel, nicht die Ausnahme darzustellen. Auch „das häßliche Haus“ – eine sehr anspruchsvolle Einstiegsaufgabe für Studenten am Beginn ihres Architekturstudiums hat in der wilden Bastelei ohne Plan und Konzept so immer mehr Hochkonjunktur. Und – auch Stararchitekten schrecken vor manchen manieristischen Plattitüden nicht zurück – auch wenn das Ganze dann sehr aufwändig verkleidet wird.
Viele Menschen, die ja – wie Goethe auch konstatiert – immer schon etwas sein – nichts aber mehr werden wollen scheinen so auf dem Weg dazu, ein Künstler zu werden stecken geblieben. Manche mögen da die Hälfte ihres eigenen Künstlerpotentials erreicht haben – manche eher mehr – viele eher weniger. Der Architekt, der ja per se nach Adolf Loos ein Maurer ist, der eben auch das Lateinische beherrscht – nach Paul Valery „Bricoleur“ – Bastler und Wissenschaftler zugleich ist – er hat eine Verantwortung für die gebaute - wie auch für die ungebaute Umwelt - die Menschen, die da in und zwischen den Häusern leben.
Wer oder was jedoch ist der Mensch? – Auf diese Frage können hier nur Anregungen als Antworten gegeben werden. Eines jedoch ist ganz sicher gewiss: Jahre - Jahrzehntelang hat man uns deutlich machen wollen, dass der Mensch – dass wir statische Wesen seien – dass unser Genom alles festlegt – dass wir quasi von Geburt an festgelegt und determiniert seien. Das Leben wird so zum Abspulen einer von vorne herein festgelegten Agenda – das Genom legt unsere Disposition – unsere Anfälligkeit gegenüber Umwelteinflüssen und Krankheiten fest und – wir sind da Spielball dieses Erbgutes. Ganz Eifrige preschen gar so weit vor und beziehen den sozialen Status auf ganz subtile Weise in diese Struktur ein – das Schicksal des Menschen ist so ein unentrinnbares Los – wer einmal unten im Dreck wühlt – wer dort gar geboren ist, der wird immer da bleiben – so lautet die unumstößliche – so natürlich nur hinter vorgehaltener Hand verlautete Botschaft.
Damit indes der Mensch – der potentielle Künstler und Architekt „seines Glückes Schmied“ sein kann, muss man ihm auch das Eisen gewähren, um zu schmieden – man muss ihm Zugang zu der Werkstatt geben, wo das Feuer angefacht ist, über dem er sein Glück schmieden kann.Und – man muss ihn ermutigen, wenn er beginnt – aber auch, wenn er mitten drin ist und sich abzeichnet, dass es fehlerhaft ist, was er da macht und – man muss ihm Chancen geben, dies zu korrigieren. Der Schmied daselbst jedoch muss dies auch wollen – soll sein Glück denn wirklich mehr als nur ein kurzes Aufflackern beim Verglühen eines Sterns sein.
Der Mensch ist also viel mehr ein Werdender – ein Lernender. Diese seine Bereitschaft dazu, ein Lernender – ein Werdender zu sein sollte in einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang miteinander geweckt werden.
Das „statische Denken“, das sich darin manifestiert, dass alles determiniert ist – es führt jedoch im Gegenteil zu ständigen Machtkämpfen, bei denen das Ausbremsen beim Treten auf der Stelle zu den am weitesten verbreiteten Methoden gehört und die eigentlichen Themen immer mehr aus dem Auge verloren werden. Traumen und Verletzungen werden bewahrt – verborgen und so gar – geschützt und – allzu häufig dann auch noch an die Kinder als schwächstes Glied weitergegeben.
Vieles ist dabei nur eine Frage des Maßstabes – ein ähnliches Prinzip ist so etwa bei Israel anzutreffen – Israel und die Aggressivität eines nationalen Traumas – der Shoa - das da bewahrt und auf die subtilste Art gepflegt wird – in Anbetracht der Besatzungspolitik gerade gegenüber Gaza – was hier kein Plädoyer für Hamas oder andere Gewalttäter sein soll stellt sich dann doch die Frage – wer ist da das Opfer – wer ist der Täter? – oder – wechselt das im Laufe der Zeit und – benötigen frühere Opfer, wenn sie ihre Traumen nur verdrängen andere, die sie so unterdrücken können? Hass ist da sicher die reaktionärste aller Kräfte – die Liebe ist da die einzige fortschrittliche Kraft. Aber – sie muss eben immer wieder neu erlangt werden. So, wie es auch mit dem Frieden ist – er ist die größte Herausforderung, weil wir mehr als einmal über unseren eigenen Schatten springen müssen. Um Vertrauen aufzubauen – um überhaupt etwas zu bauen, was da Bestand haben soll im täglichen Kommen und Vergehen ist dies unabdingbar.
Viele Menschen scheinen also nur mit dem „statischen Menschenbild“ ihrer selbst und anderer zu „denken“. Die Gene als Quelle aller menschlichen Evolution indes bewirken einen kompletten Gesichtsverlust bei Verfehlungen. Die Gene per se jedoch stellen höchstens die Hälfte der „Wahrheit“ – oder mehr oder weniger dar – je nach gegebenenTatsachen und Situationen. Letztlich scheinen wir gerade erst zu beginnen, das menschliche Gehirn und seine außerordentlichen Fähigkeiten zu entdecken. Und – da findet sich überhaupt kein „statisches Denken“ in all den Prozessen, die wir da vorfinden. Alles erscheint eher als eine Frage von Bewusstsein und Be- und Erleuchtung, die da unser Verhalten bestimmen. Das große Labyrinth da unter der Schädelkalotte ist also im biochemischen Sinne einfach eine Interpretationsmaschine, in der alle Nervenzellen per se ihr eigenes „Gedächtnis“ haben. Und – so wie Hirnzellen können sie sich gar regenerieren und somit – bis zu einem gewissen Grade selbst heilen und wieder neu bilden – eine Beobachtung, die die medizinische Forschung bis vor wenigen Jahren komplett verneint hat. Hat der Mensch also viel entscheidendere Kräfte, als er selbst zu denken wagt? Warum indes sind wir dann in so vielen eher unabänderlich erscheinenden Abläufen und – Denk- und Handlungsschemen immer wieder gefangen?
Vielleicht gibt es dabei zudem auch einen grundlegenden Unterschied zwischen „weiblichem“ und „männlichem“ Denken – ob mit Kopf, Herz, Hand oder Fuß. Dieser Unterschied betrifft wahrscheinlich die Zeit per se – und den zeitlichen Maßstab. Im archetypischen Denken ist „das Weibliche“ eher auf das Haus – die Mahlzeit – die unmittelbare Versorgung der Familie – und damit der Nachkommenschaften gerichtet. Die zeitliche Perspektive ist eher kurz gegriffen. „Das Männliche“ ist da eher auf den Bauplatz des Hauses – die Vorräte und die Bewirtschaftung des Bodens - die weitere Versorgung der Familie – und der Nachkommenschaften ausgerichtet. Die zeitliche Perspektive ist tendenziell eher mittel- und langfristig entwickelt. Mit der Entgrenzung klassischer Geschlechterverhältnisse im privaten und öffentlichen Raum – in der Familie wie im Berufsleben stellen sich insofern manche Verwirrungen ein. Denn – bisweilen scheint das Archaische das maßgeblich Prägende.
Es stellt sich denn auch die grundlegende Frage – hätten wir ein Matriarchat – unter diesen Umständen – wäre es in irgendeiner Hinsicht besser? War es nicht eine Frau – Margaret Thatcher, die da sagte:“Es gibt so etwas wie Gesellschaft gar nicht!“ und somit denn auch der völligen Zersplitterung jeglicher Form von Gemeinschaft – also auch der Familie als Keimzelle von Gesellschaft Vorschub leistete? Und – Angela Merkel, die nun das Ende des Wohlfahrtsstaates einläutet – und damit dem nicht ganz sauberen ehemaligen VW-Manager, der da von Rot-Grün konsultiert wurde für den „Umbau der Sozialsysteme“ bald statt der 4 eine 5 und dann schon bald eine 6 anhängen wird und da von Leistung und harter Arbeit in anderen Ländern spricht – während jegliche Versorgungsmonopole gefährdenden Innovationen in Deutschland stetig ausgebremst wurden in den letzten dreißig Jahren? Die „Kraft der Autosuggestion“, mit der man sich alles schönredet – ist die gar bei Frauen noch höher ausgeprägt als bei Männern? Wahrscheinlich eher nicht – die Erfindungsgabe beim mehr oder weniger bewussten Lügen - beim Vertuschen von Fehlern und Versäumnissen – von anderen Aspekten der Medaillen, die da Wahrheit abbilden – beim Finden von Sündenböcken – beim Erzeugen von Illusionen für den Plebs – Wolkenkuckucksheime ohne jegliches Fundament, die dann bald in sich zusammenstürzen und viele Menschen unter sich begraben - das obliegt dann wohl eher der generellen „Kreativität“ der Macht. Hitler war ein „verhinderter“ – ein eher mittelmäßiger, gar schwülstiger Künstler, Mao war wohl eher ein verhinderter Dichter, Kim Jong Il wohl eher ein verhinderter Filmemmacher. Die Aufzählung ließe sich beliebig weiterführen – auch bei so genannten „demokratisch legitimierten“ politischen Führern. Aber – eines ist sicher gewiss – man – besser - Frau verweist immer wieder auf den Einfluss von Testosteron und dem hormonalen Einfluss auf Entscheidungsprozesse – auf das generelle (Balz-)Verhalten von Männern – wie aber steht`s mit Östrogen, Gestagen und geflissentlichen Testosteron-Einschüssen bei Frauen? Letztlich – ist es nicht so, dass Machtkämpfe – ganz gleich, ob sie von Männern oder von Frauen auf ihre Art geführt werden ganz schnell das Wesentliche aus den Augen verlieren lassen – die Gegenwart und die Zukunft, die ja maßgeblich gestaltet werden soll?
Ich persönlich denke, das statische Denken – und das entsprechende Handeln stellt die größte Bedrohung für die Menschheit dar und – ohne ein evolutionäres Konzept von Raum und Zeit, das da mit unserem Hirn – an der Schnittstelle zwischen individuellem und kollektivem Gedächtnis jeweils agiert werden wir in Chaos, Zerstörung und Massenarmut darben.
Die geöffnete Büchse der Pandora, die uns da in ihren Sog hinabzureißen droht – wir werden diesen verheerenden Kräften nur entrinnen können, wenn wir diese Kräfte des Seins und Werdens den Verheerungen des stetigen Stroms des Vergehens entgegenzustellen vermögen.
Evolution heißt dann nichts anderes als – Einstehen für die Species – das Große und Ganze – den Lebensraum und die Lebenszeit des Homo Sapiens Sapiens – nicht aber die Zerstörung des Lebensraumes und der Lebenszeit vieler Menschen aufgrund der Verdrängung durch einige Wenige.
Evolution heißt dann, dass der Mensch sich bewusst für das Überleben seiner selbst und seiner Mitwelt entscheidet und sich endlich als wesentlich gestaltendes Teil dieser Mitwelt versteht und – dass dies somit Vorrang hat vor allem, was da auf bedruckten Lappen an Zahlenwerten steht.
Evolution heißt dann, dass der Mensch dem Menschen nicht ein Wolf ist, sondern ein Bruder und eine Schwester und – dass er so die Verschiedenartigkeit der menschlichen Naturen und Kulturen schätzen lernt – dass er endlich Mensch wird.
Als Glaubender und als Ahnender – ganz gleich an welchen Gott oder welche Götter – dass er endlich ein Mensch werdender wird.
An essential key to the will for any political change therein is the “collective memory” per se. When the human being then asserts, that history – also his or her own one isn’t over at all – as it was suggested to us for quite long time – that on the contrary oneself – that we have to take matters into our own hands, then involuntarily comes up the question, from where we should gain the power for that departure. The roots of the own identity – when the majority of the “guardians of faith” doesn’t seem to care a lot about everyday life’s questions of most of the people and seems to be well accommodated in the peripheric center of secular power then these keepers of belief won’t be able at all to find meaningful answers to urgent existential demands of most of the people. Finding common ground in the memory then might join the three world religions, following Abraham despite the completely different ways, they walked in space and time and might help the many different groups of believers in between to find reason and mutual acceptance again. You don’t need to love the other one – but you should respect him or her. Therefor the liberation from the dogma of consolidation is substantially needed – in the Vatican as much as in the centre of the Sunni exegesis of the Q’ran – at Kairo’s al Azhar. Those voices should siginificantly be strengthened, which everywhere also share the interest, that people gain some hope again of the improvement of their living conditions – also for their families as germ cell of state and society.
Ultimately there are also significant forces of “Muslim reformation” – or – of “Islamic enlightenment”, which are steering against “fundamentalism”, which is just focused on secular power – if it’s now first of all Saudi Wahabism or its aggressive missionary branch – Salafism or others. “Luther’s reformation” – “European enlightenment” as well was a longer process, which time and again – quite visibly today requires an evident refreshment.
The Ummah – the community of Muslims in the heritage of Mohammed – under the aegis of the national state particularly in the course of the partition in Sunnah and Shia this stays a fatal phantasmagoria. And – as long as the sacred places of Islam and their monuments – contemporary witnesses of history particularly in Saudi Arabia – thus Mekka and Medina furtheron only seem to be evaluated under materialistic points of view and the Muslim World doesn’t raise their voices against the destruction of their own cultural history nothing will change there at all. Separation and segregation have become decisive features of predominantly materialistic preservation of the status quo everywhere – the own identity – the own “belief”, upraised to a materialistic doubtless certainty that way is protected in a well-fortified way. The own vision of future – also the one of the own ethnic and faith group comes to rest upon that materialized logic of utilization and exploitation.
“Taking the plunge over one’s own shadow” – new perspectives on the way lying there in front of us may not reveal themselves until finding common ground while breaking out of the prisons of own “private” ways of belief - thinking – feeling – acting. “Public space” there displays itself as largely fragmented – rather hostile exterior area – spaces, humans have to rediscover and to recreate – to make them viable according to their demands. Just the legal obstacles, he will find there will time and again repulse him – on himself – his own private space – his own belief – the more and more decreasing substance to truly provide life and hope for himself and his family. But – he will urgently need to rediscover this public space. The collective memory might give him truly essential cornerstones – landmarks on insecure ground. Ultimately it’s all about reviving an interrupted narration – lending some substance and content to it at the intersection of one’s own fate within the collective – the common lot. And – that way about finding a hearing again for the entative essential.
We need pragmatic approaches for the encroachment into seemingly “new spaces” – but we don’t need permanent new proposals for methods, how to tolerate the gigantic wall there crumbling in front of our eyes – until then it might bury us under itself.
That’s valid for all changes out of the enacted consolidation - thus also for the change of energy supply here – for coming back to Germany here.
The more so as for a “change of energy supply” the generally held back energy first of all needs to unfold itself – therefore artificially created – or rather compelled “energetic poverty” shall be enabled to spread – emerging from a stamp, that existed more or less in the black hole of suppression it shall become a vessel, that is halfway full – not halfway empty. Here once again there are many matters around rights of ownership and tenures, which currently are thwarting everything. And – insulated Wilhelminian style facades and “bio fuel” cannot comply with these challenges at all. There one rather needs to approach the sources and to evaluate collective and common use higher than private interests. Central and decentral moments there need to interlock complementing one another and – basic research likewise has to be pushed simultaneously – regarding sustainable and renewable energy storage and smart grids and many other subjects. In fact also the monopolists of energy supply and their shareholders should realize, that it should go on following other ways than the ones just dominated and controlled by themselves – also regarding their own benefit. That we currently just end up in a blind alley leading into a tunnel. Although this might cause some sensitive cuts in their own short-termed return assumption – they should furtheron get their shares and their experience is welcome – but that’s not the case with the monopolistic claims for being the exclusive representative. In the mid term they should be able to reach out for reasonable yield returns. Altogether though a “sustainability index” is needed, which hasn’t just the short termed quarterly accounting as leading parameter but contains mid- and long term evaluation of production-, procurement and operating costs – particularly with regard to the energy and environmental balance. In the end – also the “Project for a new American Century” (PNAC) wanted to safeguard the access to the oil sources in its agenda from autumn 2000. As raid though – without any real instruments for a reconciliation of interests and multilateral “contract certainty” the whole thing doesn’t contain any “sustainability” – no future viability – as Iraq and particularly Afghanistan have shown.
In the same way we need local environmental rehabilitation measures for contrasting that with global climate change. Nonetheless has to be amended here – we know the “Laws of Thermodynamics”, but Climate Research itself is such a young science – how models of our climate and reality of the development are and will be will still create many intense moments of tensions. And – many struggles – particularly between so called emerging markets and the so called developed world – as there’s still a lot of ignorance regarding the particular other one dominating the scene – if it’s now, that people think, “in the North children grow up with solver spoons in their mouth” – or they even grow up like that – or – if it’s now, that in the South “By nature” everyone’s equipped with less education and less possibilities and chances. Just as an example.
In fact the actual central issues in neo feudalism aren’t a long way away from each other also at these two points of support of the “Central Asian Bridge” – for now hinting towards the other end of the Islamic Halfmoon – the AfPak-Zone – thus Afghanistan and Pakistan. And – the fateful link between Germany and Israel – also there it’s high time for leaving the diplomatic dirt tracks of Ribbentrop’s imprint in the year of 201- and for aiming at true accents for change and security.
Not the one writing here is an unworldly naïve illusionist with no history – those, who still believe, that this misgovernment of the financial-military-deindustrial complex without the acceptance of the sustainable destruction of all forms of living on earth can continuously proceed like that – those are the illusionists, who sell the world and destroy it. For now returning exemplified to the current location of the author here – without a communal local water legislation, which was ruled by federal laws in the early 1970s in Germany – where then public welfare was evaluated higher than private interests and also compensation methods were designed the Rhine today would be a dead river – a water front along the Rhine here, as it was built in the midst 1990s would never have existed, cause – who likes to promenade alongside a dead, stinky murky broth?
These days it still seems to be like that, that governments - including banks and the military - the financial-military-deindustrializing – thus productive forces abolishing complex in most Northern countries - cleptocrats – again banks and the military - the financial-military-industrializing and profit and polution maximizing Northern deindustrialized complex in most Southern countries together with those deputies there seem to wish to irresistibly continue with their plans for the unconditional exploitation of the world – and the majority of the people there. Actually, what David Graeber confronted as the 1 % to the famous 99 %. In the final analysis though we will only be able to protect and preserve our living spaces with 99+1%.
A truly essential step – as everything is about politics, that is linked with different people and groups of humans living together will be a new creation of chains of cause and effect. How could it come that far? When and how did it start and – how does it look like in that particular historical situation?
Especcially the since several decades now omnipresent almost “Natural law” adapted on all levels - the “customary right” on “free markets”– mostly just the unconditional right of the mighty – we won’t be able to encounter that with incentives and nice words. There are rather instruments on all levels essential – laws, which are aiming at consensus and balance and that way also protect weak people – encouraging them for collaboration and – offering them equivalent possibilities for participation.
And – of course – this whole story has gone through an essential tightening since September 11th, 2011. The statement, that for the investigation of Bill Clinton’s “voluntary affair” more money was input then for the investigation on 911 – that already in April 2001 an Israeli secret service reported about some Arab pilot trainees in the US, who weren’t interested at all in learning, how to land an aeroplane – the also to a layman quite strange reaction to fire especially of the third highriser to collapse at NYC that day – WTC 7, which hasn’t been hit by a rather small airliner at all and many, many more things – everything just rumors without any added value – consequently – “conspiracy theories”?

Here again a more closed view on – or rather into the collective memory of the three monotheistic world religions can provide us with some more detailed information. Or - should this essential part of the collective memory of humanity increasingly fall prey to the “Alzheimer Syndrome”?
A reinvestigation into that gigantic crime - Philipp Roth’s „Plot Against America“ insofar could finally also clear the way for the Jubilee of the global haircut on debt and – it would then give the US and Europe the chance for redeeming themselves again – as true democracies. And – to the many confidants and accessories, who profited long enough from that – particularly to China that way multiple chances for “fighting the crisis” are revealed – for reinventing the “Middle Kingdom”. And – Japan, where just some days ago people in the common “lack of alternatives” almost two years after the Tsunami, the Fukushima-shock and recent heavy saber rattling with China voted for the way back to nuclear power and “national pathos” – consequently the foam of days gone by – also at that trouble spot with the increasing deflation this could be a benefit. A chance then as well for the “United Peoples“ – for mankind.
Here the circuit is complete. When the one writing here couldn’t sleep any more some about six years ago and dived from his own intersection into the collective memory not only of the three religions following Abraham – as it displayed itself to him after several travels here and there he still saw some chances for reforms. Now a publishing house of books tells him, that the rather fugitive and transient medium internet is the right place for that, while some there in the net frankly show their hostility, meaning to hastily need to judge about one moment from years of trains of thoughts in space and time and recommend him the search for publishing houses – of course continuously aiming at the fact, that he that way – like many other people not only in Greece will never be able to offer a presence worth living – let alone a future to his kids and that way might rather be rejected further into debt slavery.
You don’t need to have researched on forms of how people from different cultures have chosen to live together for almost two decades as an architect and urban developer – particularly in regions minted by Islam – but it does make things easier. You don’t need to have worked as a “Build-up aider” in Afghanistan – many things though reveal themselves easier. You also don’t need to have changed allegiances several times – to have worked as a fire protection and water and sanitation engineer – though you’re trained as an acrhiect and urban developer – but much becomes specified that way. And – the view angle of social sciences from school days, which was transmitted by good teachers – it’s good, when you’re able to say that – when you’re able to praise your teacher in the retrospective - when you can certify them, that they seem to have laid a good foundation stone. Same way, as you might say about professors and teachers from university and the professional career. You don’t need to have read Brecht, Goethe, Nietzsche, Sartre and Camus and Joyce’s Ulysses and much more – also you don’t need to know the Brecht from Palermo, who’s longing for a new skin on Sicilian market places – a skin in the way, the black snakes are able to change it. You also don’t need to have transformed the quote by Rosa Luxemburg about the freedom of the dissident, which actually had been used far off today’s civic term of freedom – braving the mistrust of everybody fighting everybody with the postulate, that respect always was the respect for the experience, the other one has gained. Nothing can be bought by that – you’re not free to do that - neither some presence nor a little bit of future. Has it really always been like that?
It’s time – actually high time to initiate things, which are in an unsteady rocking motion – effecting real changes. Together with and for 99+1%. As a father – who, like any father owes a future to his kids and – who with this debt exactly feels like the person, David Graeber meets in the beginning of his book on the first 5000 years of “debt” – where the author there describes his bafflement with that party talk, where his vis-â-vis steadily affirms, that people have to pay back their debt – as a moral commandment after all, which though misses to make the decisive difference between the ideal – reaching into the future and the purely materialistic thing, which in the course of interest and compound interest just now rather corresponds to a nihilist flop – “much ado about nothing” – as Shakespeare would point out. You’re not free to buy anything from that- neither some presence nor a tiny piece of future. The human being though not having any possessions – is he just valueless?
In view of the fact, that we do only have that one world we should act together a bit smarter and more sober-minded – more human. Just as a proposal.
Because – also next morning – on December 22nd, 2012 the 7th and more billion child will be born on planet earth and will do his or her first shout- and – his or her parents as much as the child itself will associate chances and hopes with that first breath of air – with that first shout. Another child on planet earth – the “Planet of Slums”, which seems to be condemned to wait for the “Triumph of the City” just the way, Estragon and Wladimir are waiting for Godot – and – we together with him. Another child – one out of many – We shouldn’t disappoint her.
After many years in the outland now writing out of the inner exile has become something like an obsessional neurosis. The one writing here now finally increasingly wants to do something again – drawing – speaking – moving rocks and rubble – upwards the hillsides and downwards again – about to and within an ace – building.)
Ein wesentlicher Schlüssel zum Willen zu politischer Veränderung ist dabei das „Kollektive Gedächtnis“ per se. Wenn der Mensch also feststellt, dass die Geschichte – auch seine oder ihre eigene längst nicht zu Ende ist – wie man ihm lange suggeriert hat – dass er sie – dass wir sie im Gegenteil selbst in die Hand nehmen müssen, dann stellt sich uns unwillkürlich die Frage, woraus wir die Kraft zu diesem Aufbruch schöpfen sollen. Die Wurzeln der eigenen Identität – wenn die Mehrzahl der „Hüter des Glaubens“ scheinbar sehr wenig Interesse an den Fragen des Alltags der meisten Menschen und sich im peripheren Zentrum weltlicher Macht gut eingerichtet hat vermögen diese Glaubenshüter kaum sinnige Antworten auf drängende existentielle Fragen der meisten Menschen zu geben. Das Finden von Gemeinsamkeiten in der Erinnerung vermag so auch die völlig verschiedene zeitliche und räumliche Wege gegangenen drei Abrahamitischen Weltreligionen zu vereinen und ihren vielen Glaubensgruppen dazwischen wieder zu Vernunft und gegenseitiger Akzeptanz zu verhelfen. Man muss den anderen nicht lieben – man sollte ihn aber achten. Dafür bedarf es jedoch auch ganz wesentlich – der Befreiung vom Dogma der Erstarrung – im Vatikan genauso wie im Zentrum der sunnitischen Exegese des Q’ran – in Kairos al Azhar. Es bedarf eben auch ganz wesentlich einer Stärkung der Stimmen, die da allerorten auch ein Interesse daran haben, dass die Menschen wieder Hoffnung schöpfen – auf Verbesserung ihrer Lebensbedingungen – auch für ihre Familien als Keimzelle von Staat und Gesellschaft.
Letztlich sind es ganz maßgeblich die Kräfte der „muslimischen Reformation“ – oder - der „muslimischen Aufklärung“, die da dem allein auf weltliche Macht fixierten „Fundamentalismus“ entgegensteuern – sei es nun der primär saudische Wahabismus oder sein aggressiv missionarischer Arm – der Salafismus oder andere. Auch „Luthers Reformation“ – auch „die europäische Aufklärung“ waren jeweils lange Prozesse, die immer wieder – wie heutzutage deutlich sichtbar einer deutlichen Auffrischung bedürfen.
Die Ummah – die Gemeinschaft der Muslime in der Erbfolge Mohammeds – unter nationalstaatlicher Ägide bleibt sie gerade im Zuge der Teilung in Sunnah und Schia eine fatale Phantasmagorie. Und – solange die heiligen Stätten des Islam und ihre Monumente- Zeitzeugen der Geschichte gerade in Saudi-Arabien – also Mekka und Medina weiterhin scheinbar allein unter materiellen Gesichtspunkten betrachtet werden und die islamische Welt nicht gegen die Zerstörung ihrer eigenen Kulturgeschichte aufbegehrt wird sich da auch kaum etwas ändern. Abgrenzung und Ausgrenzung ist überall zum wesentlichen Merkmal der vorwiegend materiellen Bestandssicherung geworden – die eigene Identität – der eigene zur materiellen Gewissheit erhobene „Glaube“ wird so wehrhaft geschützt. Die eigene Vision von Zukunft – auch die der eigenen Volks- oder Glaubensgruppe bleibt auf der Strecke bei dieser materialisierten Gebrauchs- und Verwertungs – mithin Ausbeutungslogik.
Der „Sprung über den Schatten“ – erst das Finden von Gemeinsamkeiten beim Ausbrechen aus den Gefängnissen des eigenen „privaten“ Glaubens – Denkens – Fühlens – Handelns eröffnet da neue Perspektiven auf den Weg, der da vor uns liegen könnte. „Öffentlichkeit“ stellt sich dort als größtenteils fragmentierter – eher feindlicher Außenraum dar – Räume, die der Mensch erst einmal lebensfähig und seinen Bedürfnissen entsprechend wiederfinden und gestalten muss. Alleine die rechtlichen Hindernisse, auf die er dabei stößt werden ihn immer wieder zurückwerfen – auf sich sebst – seinen eigenen privaten Raum – seinen eigenen Glauben – auf immer weniger Substanz, die ihm und seiner Familie wirklich Leben und Hoffnung zu bescheren vermag. Doch – er wird unbedingt diesen öffentlichen Raum wiederentdecken müssen. Das kollektive Gedächtnis vermag ihm da ganz wesentliche Eckpfeiler zu geben – Markierungen auf unsicherem Gelände. Letztlich geht es darum, eine unterbrochene Erzählung wiederaufzunehmen – an der Schnittstelle des eigenen Schicksals ihr wieder im Rahmen des kollektiven – des gemeinsamen Loses Substanz und Inhalt – und Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten zu geben. Und – so eben auch wieder Gehör zu finden für das wesentlich Wesenhafte.
Wir benötigen pragmatische Lösungswege für das Vordringen in scheinbare Neuräume - nicht aber ständig neue Methodikvorschläge, wie wir die gigantische Wand da, die vor unseren Augen zerbröckelt ertragen können - bis sie uns unter sich begräbt.
Das gilt für alle Veränderungen aus der verordneten Erstarrung - eben auch für die hiesige Energiewende – um hier wieder nach Deutschland zurückzukommen.
Zumal – für eine „Energiewende“muss erst einmal die allgemein aufgestaute Energie sich entfalten – mithin künstlich erzeugte – oder gar erzwungene „Energiearmut“ soll sich verbreiten können – von einer Briefmarke , die da im schwarzen Loch der Verdrängung mehr oder weniger existierte soll sie zu einem Gefäß werden, das da halb voll – nicht halb leer ist. Auch hier sind es viele Themen um Besitzrechte und –ansprüche, die da derzeit alles ausbremsen. Und – gedämmte Gründerzeitfassaden und „Biosprit“ genügen diesen Herausforderungen in keinster Weise. Da muss man schon an die Quellen heran und kollektiven – gemeinschaftlichen Nutzen über private Interessen stellen. Zentrale und dezentrale Momente müssen da einander ergänzend ineinandergreifen und – die Grundlagenforschung muss gleichfalls simultan vorangetrieben werden – was nachhaltige und erneuerbare Energiespeicher und smarte Netzwerke und vieles anderes betrifft. Tatsächlich sollten dies auch die Monopolisten der Energieversorgung und ihre Aktionäre erkennen, dass es da - auch zu ihrem Besten – auf anderen Wegen als auf denen von ihnen alleine beherrschten weitergehen sollte. Dass wir uns so eher in einem nun in eine Sackgasse gemündeten Tunnel befinden. Auch wenn dies einige empfindliche Einschnitte in ihrer kurzfristigen Profiterwartung bringen mag – sie sollen ja weiterhin ihre Anteile erhalten und ihre Erfahrung ist willkommen – nicht aber die monopolistischen Alleinvertreteransprüche. Mittelfristig gar könnten sie gar immer noch venünftige Renditen erzielen. Insgesamt jedoch bedarf es dafür eines „Nachhaltigkeits-Indexes“, der nicht die kurzfristige Quartalsbilanzierung zum Hauptparameter hat, sondern mittel- und langfristige Evaluierung von Produktions-, Beschaffungs- und Betriebskosten – gerade eben auch im Hinblick auf die Energie- und Umweltbilanz beinhaltet. Letztlich – auch das „Projekt für ein neues amerikanisches Jahrhundert“ (PNAC) wollte ja in seiner Agenda vom Herbst 2000 den Zugriff auf die Ölquellen sichern. Als Raubzüge jedoch – ohne wirkliche Instrumente für Interessensausgleiche und mehrseitige „Vertragssicherheiten“ hat das Ganze keine „Nachhaltigkeit“ – keine Zukunftstauglichkeit – wie der Irak und besonders auch Afghanistan deutlich gezeigt hat.
In gleicher Weise benötigen wir lokale Umweltschutz- und Mitweltsanierungsmaßnahmen, um so dem globalen Klimawandel entsprechend etwas entgegenzusetzen. Gleichwohl ist dem hinzuzufügen – wir kennen die Sätze der Thermodynamik, aber die Klimaforschung an sich ist eine solchermaßen junge Wissenschaft – wie Klimamodelle und Realität der Entwicklung sind und sein werden – das wird immer noch viele intensive Spannungsmomente hervorbringen. Und – viel Streit – zumal zwischen so genannten Schwellenländern und der so genannten entwickelten Welt – beherrscht doch da viel Unwissenheit über den jeweiligen anderen das Bild – sei es nun, dass man denkt, „im Norden seien die Kinder mit silbernen Löffeln im Munde aufgewachsen“ oder gar geboren- sei es nun, im Süden seien „von Natur aus“ alle mit weniger Bildung und weniger Möglichkeiten dafür ausgestattet. Nur so als Beispiel.
Tatsächlich liegen die eigentlichen Kernprobleme da im Neofeudalismus gar nicht so weit auseinander an diesen beiden Auflagerpunkten der „Zentralasiatischen Brücke“ – um hier noch einmal auf das andere Ende des islamischen Halbmondes – die AfPak-Zone – also Afghanistan und Pakistan hinzuweisen. Und – die schicksalhafte Verbindung Deutschlands mit Israel – auch da wäre es an der Zeit, die diplomatischen Trampelpfade Ribbentrop’scher Prägung anno 201- zu verlassen und wirkliche Akzente für Wandel und Sicherheit zu leisten.
Nicht der hier schreibt ist ein weltfremder und geschichtsloser Illusionist – diejenigen, die da glauben, dass diese Misswirtschaft des finanziell-militärisch-deindustriellen Komplexes ohne die Inkaufnahme der nachhaltigen Zerstörung aller Lebensformen auf der Welt stetig so weitergehen kann – das sind die Illusionisten, die die Welt verkaufen und zerstören. Um hier nochmals beispielhaft auf den derzeitigen Standort des Verfassers zurückzukommen – ohne kommunale, über Bundesgesetze geregelte Wassergesetzgebung Anfang der 1970er Jahre in Deutschland, wo also Gemeinwohl über Privatinteresse gestellt wurde und Kompensationsformen auch vorgezeichnet wurden wäre der Rhein heute ein toter Fluss – eine Mitte der 1990er Jahre gebaute Rheinuferpromenade in Düsseldorf hätte es nie gegeben – denn – wer mag schon an einer toten, stinkenden trüben Brühe entlangspazieren ?
Derzeit jedoch scheint es immer noch so, dass Regierungen – einschließlich Banken und Militärs – der finanziell-militärisch-deindustrielle – also Produktivkräfte abbauende Komplex in den meisten nördlichen Staaten – Kleptokraten – wieder Banken und Militärs – der finanziell-militärisch-industrielle und Profit und Umweltzerstörung maximierende nördliche deindustrialisierende Komplex in den meisten südlichen Ländern gemeinsam unaufhaltsam ihre Pläne zur bedingungslosen Ausbeutung der Welt – und der Mehrzahl der Menschen darauf so weiterführen wollen. Das, was David Graeber als 1 % den berühmten 99 % gegenübergestellt hat. Letztlich werden wir aber nur mit 99+1% unsere Lebensräume schützen und erhalten können.
Ein ganz wesentlicher Schritt – da ja alles politisch ist, was das Zusammenleben verschiedener Menschen und Gruppen von Menschen betrifft wird eine neue Herleitung von Kausalketten sein. Wie konnte es so weit kommen? Wann und wie fing das an und – wie verhält es sich jetzt in dieser besonderen historischen Situation?
Gerade das sich durch mehrere Dekaden nun durchziehende allgegenwärtige und – auf allen Ebenen anzutreffende, geradezu als „Naturgesetz“ angenommene „Gewohnheitsrecht“ auf „freien Märkten“ – zumeist das bedingungslose Recht des Stärkeren - dem wird man nicht mit Anreizen und guten Worten begegnen können. Da sind vielmehr auf allen Ebenen Instrumente erforderlich – Gesetze, die da auf Konsens und Ausgleich bedacht eben auch die Schwachen schützen – sie aber auch zur Mitarbeit auffordern und – ihnen entsprechend auch Partizipationsmöglichkeiten geben.
Und – natürlich hat seit dem 11. September 2001 diese ganze Geschichte eine wesentliche Verschärfung erfahren. Die Aussage, dass für die Ermittlung der „Praktikantenaffäre“ Bill Clintons mehr Geld aufgewendet wurde als für die Ermittlung von 911 – dass da im April 2001 bereits ein israelischer Geheimdienst von arabischen Flugschülern in den US berichtete, die kein Interesse daran hatten, landen zu lernen – das auch für einen Laien ungewöhnliche Brandverhalten gerade des dritten, an diesem Tage in New York eingestürzten Hochhauses – WTC 7, das ja nicht von einer zudem recht kleinen Passagiermaschine getroffen wurde und vieles, vieles mehr – alles Gerüchte ohne Mehrwert – mithin – „Verschwörungstheorien“?

Auch hier vermag ein genauerer Blick auf das kollektive Gedächtnis der drei monotheistischen Weltreligionen – in dasselbe eher – genauere Auskünfte zu geben.
Oder – soll dieser wesentliche Teil des kollektiven Gedächtnisses der Menschheit zunehmend dem „Alzheimer-Syndrom“ anheim fallen?
Eine Neu-Untersuchung dieses gewaltigen Verbrechens – Philipp Roth’s „Plot gegen Amerika“ könnte insofern endlich auch den Weg zum Jubeljahr des globalen Schuldenschnitts ebnen und – es würde dann auch den US und Europa die Chance geben, sich selbst wieder zu rehabilitieren – als wirkliche Demokratien. Und – den vielen Vertrauten und Mitwissern, die lange genug davon profitiert haben – insbesondere China tun sich da auch mannigfache Chancen zur „Krisenbekämpfung“ – zur Wiedererfindung der Mitte des Reiches auf.
Und – Japan, das gerade in üblicher „Alternativlosigkeit“ knapp zwei Jahre nach Tsunami, Fukushima-Schock und zuletzt heftigem Säbelrasseln mit China den Weg zurück zu Atomkraft und „nationalem Pathos“ – mithin – dem Schaum vergangener Tage „gewählt“ hat – auch an diesem Konfliktherd in der zunehmenden Deflation könnte dies nur Gutes bewirken. Eine Chance eben auch für die „United Peoples“ - für die Menschen.
Der Kreis schließt sich hier. Als der hier Schreibende nicht mehr schlafen konnte vor nunmehr sechs Jahren und von seiner eigenen Schnittstelle aus ins kollektive Gedächtnis nicht nur der drei Abrahamitischen Religionen, wie es sich ihm nach mancher Reise hier und dort darbot abtauchte, da sah er noch manche Chancen zu Reformen. Nun sagt man ihm von Seiten eines Buchverlages, dass das eher flüchtige Medium Internet der richtige Raum sei dafür, während dort im Netz manche ihn anfeinden, weil sie meinen, hastig über einen Moment aus jahrelangen Gedankengängen in Raum und Zeit urteilen zu müssen und ihm die Verlagssuche anraten – natürlich weiterhin darauf hinauslaufend, dass er so – wie so viele Menschen nicht nur in Griechenland seinen Kindern niemals eine lebenswerte Gegenwart – geschweige denn Zukunft bieten könne und so eher weiter in die Schuldsklaverei abgestoßen wird.
Man muss nicht als Architekt und Städtebauer bald zwei Jahrzehnte lang Formen des Zusammenlebens der Menschen verschiedenster Kulturen – gerade auch in muslimisch geprägten Regionen erforscht haben – aber es erleichtert einiges. Man muss auch nicht in Afghanistan als „Aufbauhelfer“ gearbeitet haben – vieles erschließt sich dann jedoch leichter. Auch muss man nicht mehrmals die Seiten gewechselt – als ausgebildeter Architekt und Städtebauer eben auch als Brandschutz- und Wasserbauingenieur gearbeitet haben – aber vieles präzisiert sich so. Und – den sozialwissenschaftlichen Blickwinkel aus der Schulzeit, von guten Lehrern vermittelt – gut, wenn man das sagen kann – wenn man seine Lehrer zurückblickend loben kann – wenn man ihnen attestieren kann, dass sie wohl einen guten Grundstein gelegt haben. So, wie man das auch den Professoren und Dozenten von der Uni und später der Berufszeit sagen kann. Man muss auch nicht den Brecht , Goethe, Nietzsche, Sartre und Camus und Joyce’ Ulysses und vieles mehr gelesen haben – auch muss man nicht den palermitanischen Brecht kennen, der sich da nach einer neuen Haut auf sizilianischen Marktplätzen sehnt – einer Haut, wie sie die schwarzen Schlangen zu wechseln vermögen. Auch muss man nicht Rosa Luxemburgs Ausspruch von der Freiheit des Andersdenkenden, der eigentlich fernab des heutigen bürgerlichen Freiheitsbegriffes gebraucht wurde umgedeutet haben in das dem Misstrauen des jeder gegen jeden trotzenden Postulat, dass da Respekt immer der Respekt vor der Erfahrung des anderen sei. Kaufen kann und darf man sich davon nichts – Weder etwas Gegenwart noch ein kleines Stückchen Zukunft. Das war schon immer so ?
Es ist an der Zeit – höchste Zeit mithin, die im Schwanken befindlichen Dinge anzustoßen – wirkliche Änderungen zu erwirken. Mit und für 99+1%. Als Vater, der – wie jeder Vater da eben auch seinen Kindern eine Zukunft schuldet und - bei dieser Schuld exakt so empfindet, wie auch David Graeber zu Beginn seines Buches über die ersten 5000 Jahre Kulturgeschichte der „Schulden“ seine Verblüffung bei einem Partygespräch beschreibt, wo sein Gegenüber standhaft behauptet, man müsse Schulden zurückzahlen – als moralisches Gebot also, das jedoch versäumt, den maßgeblichen Unterschied zwischen dem Ideellen – in die Zukunft reichenden und dem puren Materiellen zu machen – dem puren Materiellen, das im Zuge von Zins-und Zinseszins gerade nun eher einer nihilistischen Luftnummer entspricht – „Viel Lärm um Nichts“ – wie Shakespeare es umreißen würde. Kaufen kann und darf man sich davon nichts – Weder etwas Gegenwart noch ein kleines Stückchen Zukunft. Der materiell besitzlose Mensch jedoch – ist er wertlos?
In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass wir nur diese eine Welt haben sollten wir gemeinsam etwas klüger und besonnener - menschlicher agieren. Nur so als Vorschlag.
Denn – auch am Morgen des 22. Dezembers 2012 wird das 7 und wieviel Milliardste Kind auf dieser Welt geboren werden und seinen ersten Schrei ausstoßen – und – seine Eltern wie auch das Kind da selbst wird Chancen und Hoffnungen mit diesem ersten Atemzug – diesem ersten Schrei verbinden. Ein weiteres Kind auf dieser Welt – dem „Planeten der Slums“, der auf den „Siegeszug der Stadt“ wie Estragon und Wladimir auf Godot wartend verdammt zu sein scheint – und – wir mit ihm. Ein weiteres Kind – eines von vielen – Wir sollten sie nicht enttäuschen.

Who protects ethnical and religious minorities in national state like textures breaking apart? The UN- Charter of Human rights is based on the idea of the national state and its integrity - Kurds, Tibetans, Rohyngias between Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh, Quizlbash, Hazara and others in Afghanistan,Shias in Bahrain, Pashtuns in the Fatas between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Uygurs in Sinkiang in China, indigenous people at the Amazon as much as in India’s heartland, Palestinians in Israel – representative here for many others they don’t find a voice there. Soon then they are endangered of being instrumentalized and indoctrinated and – by that then more brutal resistance against them and their mostly quite reasonable wishes and concerns is legitimized. Ultimately though every human wants, that his or her identity is respected – that we are regarded as human beings with all our basic needs. An eternal vicious circle, which urgently requires potentials for ways out has evolved from that.
Who soon then is still able to make the difference between delinquent and victim? Do we want to proceed with World War 3 as an endless scenario – burning on a low flame, sometimes a bit higher blazing – threatening to become an open fire eternally like that or – do we want to explore new ways of communication and interaction – therefore generally arriving at chances for some constructive diplomacy? Do we finally want to acknowledge diversity that way – of humans and the creation on earth and – rights and duties related to that and – generally open ourselves towards that? That seems to be one of the key questions, which isn’t even posed in that strange butchery lacking any vision – following the “clash of civilizations” almost as a natural law.
The strange economical war, we here in Europe are attending – the continuous reallocation of loads for the taxpayer and discharge of many rather bankrupt entrepreneurs, who are actually suffering from a relative lack of ideas and concepts- fulfilled by shilly-shally politicians, who often as technocrats even aren’t legitimized by voters – companies, which then with lowered wages become “globally competitive” again – and the banks with them – how far does that gloomy game with the permanent “fight against debt” and “bank rescue” still go on – lacking any offensive powers in the matter of real change – in the matter of a peaceful rebuilding of cooperative economies in bond of fair trade - in the sense of ecological-social market economies - in the name of the “change of energy supply– in Europe and elsewhere”?
And – furtheron there also needs to be posed the question – how long can proxy wars about “new markets” be kept up at Europe’s borders – Turkey, Syria etc. before one needs to let war – also the real hot war willy-nilly pass into the own country – even though it’s “just” rencounters then against the own people?
While then now the self-appointed “best German government since the Fall of the Wall” completely in the way of neoliberal lack of responsibility cancels whole passages from “poverty reports” and once more lost to any better knowledge and conscience “does a brilliant job” and other Cassandras and whistleblowers as the one writing here are already “doing time” since many years with psychiatric expertises – Gustl Mollath in Bavaria, who already very early pointed to dirty money deals of the Hypo-Vereinsbank there, but, where because of the private nature of the history of divorce and the case of abuse against him, claimed by his ex-wife there are still too many inconsistencies there to be examined with different independent expertises again in a new investigation – while some states already officially want to leave the US and there’s gossiping over assassination plans against President Obama – while then China almost doesn’t buy US-government bonds any more and some are preparing themselves “in their inflationary emergency” for doing “shopping- or clearance sale tours” in Europe, which is permanently racked with the crisis and obviously isn’t capable to become the master – or lady of the situation, while the word of the slaveholder society always is better readable as the writing on the wall and in the Bengali capital Dhaka mostly female textile workers fall victims to these “working conditions” in flames and smoke and soon then everyone’s busy in quickly finding pawn sacrifices - that way tomorrow already things can go on with “business as usual” in the greedy machinery of unleashed “productive forces” on “free markets” – while then all that and even more events are happening for all the world to see and some things become more obscure for us and some give us glimpses of enlightenment - then on November, 29th 2012 with the acknowledgement of Palestine as “state with some observer-status” at the UN the circle to what the author here firstly – almost five years ago described in a blog-community in the Internet is closing itself. Taking a look though on the map of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories and knowing, how in (Neo-)feudalism generally is dealt with tenures, basic rights and land rights – in fact one of the main subjects here – knowing, that this is also the core of Israeli settlement policy – the way, how the accessability to wells and the use of water rights has already been an early focus point of Israeli occupation policy – then one should also soon realize, that a really viable Palestinian State cannot exist at all under these circumstances.
The “One-State-Solution” instead, which is also promoted by leading Palestinian Intellectuals and – also has been promoted since then by the one, writing here urgently comes with the end of the “clash of civilisations” – and the new definition of public international law and human rights in the sense of the „United Peoples of the World” – regardless of whether these ethnic and religious groups live in “nations of their own” or whether they are minorities – sometimes also counting some million people living in nations, which are dominated by other groups.

Also the role of the Egyptian president Mursi, who decisively negotiated the cease-fire between Israel and the Hamas, governing the Gaza-strip and who then, reinforced by that aims at erecting a pharao-like regime along the Nile – once more it’s evident, how overdue the Western micro-management-recipes in economic totaliatarianism of “new markets” and – how dehumanizing and contemptuous to all ideas of democracy the results are in that hopefully last phase of the “clash of civilizations”, reigning over all internal as much as external movements. The so called – or that way acting “first world” doesn’t only give a bad example in its complete solidification - its faint-heartedness and helplessness – focused on leadership and power struggles it just administrates stagnation everywhere – and the lack of chances and perspective for increasingly more parts of humanity. “Frantic stagnation” that way is created again and again, because everywhere – in Egypt as much as elsewhere the same power structure is installed. But – the majority of the people doesn’t benefit from that – their living and working conditions don’t improve. All things rather seem to remain unaffected – an eternal false labeling, wherein the people – humans generally rather are regarded as annoying administrative units but as potential for development. Arsising from that mistrust even the proudest people are annoyed or rather go once again to the barricades- and the squares – here then Kairo’s Midan Tahrir.
So called „Global Climate conferences“ demonstrate that in their completely senseless and inefficient lack of common results as well. As if quite many technocrats and some few competent – even rather „concerned“ humans would meet there at Doha just for avoiding to get into touch with environmental destructions, which challenge global sense of responsibility and make local action inevitable. Having said that – in the „first world“ many are always talking quite contemptuously about corruption in the „third world“ – for the matter of the inefficiency of administrative structures – and the rejecting attitude facing essential changes and that way denying any progress in that „first world“ – that’s not laudable at all, too. Another reason, why the Afghan people – all the peoples from Afghanistan in effect soon then deserve the Peace Nobel Price – after this year Europe could decorate itself with that award.
Humanism – any kind of idealism as an essential source of Europe as a peaceful refined international community – after the horror of the battlefields of WW1 and WW2 – not to forget the French-German war 1870/71 – „the old continent“ with the old arch-enemies France and Germany in its centre decomposes itself that more increasingly and – one really has to be afraid of the eruption of gloomy times as well for “the old continent”. The complete adherence to outworn power and ownership structures emerging everywhere ultimately prevents any kind of progression – any change.
The so called “Energiewende” – the change of energy supply that way also becomes just an impossible act. There doesn’t seem to exist any political will for that – like with any kind of change - the “speed” given here cannot stand the developments. The “first world” once more doesn’t become a pioneer, but a vanguard-thwarter. And – this lesson the one writing here has learnt in Afghanistan – everything is politics and – it’s all about people’s will – it’s all about our own will. If it’s with or without any political mandate. In a democracy of course with it – after all here is said: “ All authority comes from the people.”
And – in very general terms – on “globalized markets” the “old continent” also has to fulfill a certain “function as a role model” – particularly on the subject of innovation – technologically as much as judicially – on the fields of socio-economic adjustment and therewith-increase of wealth and – acknowledgement of human existence – and of work of
ideal as much as material – spiritual as much as physically haptic nature.
The “function as a role model” also for that country on the Nile – also for other countries in the South. In very general terms a self-reflection on experiences, we’ve already made is needed and – a careful approach to ways into a better future – although this might sometimes awake old fears. One has to find a way through that mess.
There’s a demand for multiple legal instruments for arriving at adjustments of interests on the tracks out of solidification of “customary law”. And this is valid for all levels – ranging from human and civil rights until public international law.
In Bezug auf „supranationale Organisationen“ wurden vom hier Schreibenden öfters die „United Peoples“ eingebacht. In immer stärker fragmentierten Gemeinwesen sind auch immer mehr Menschen – ganze Völkerscharen quasi rechtlos. Wer schützt ethnische und religiöseMinderheiten in auseinanderfallenden nationalstaatlichen Gefügen? Die UN-Menschenrechtscharta basiert auf der Idee vom Nationalstaat und dessen Integrität – Kurden, Tibeter, Rohyngias zwischen Myanmar (Burma) und Bangladesh, Quizlbash, Hazara und andere in Afghanistan, Schiiten in Bahrain, Pashtunen in den Fatas zwischen Pakistan und Afghanistan, Uyguren in Sinkiang in China, die indigenen Völker am Amazonas wie im Herzen Indiens, Palästinenser in Israel – stellvertretend hier für viele andere finden da keine Stimme. Bald laufen sie Gefahr, dann instrumentalisiert und ideologisiert zu werden – wodurch dann auch noch brutalere Gegenwehr gegen sie und ihre zumeist durchaus berechtigten Anliegen legitimiert wird. Letztlich jedoch möchte jeder Mensch, dass seine Identität respektiert wird – dass er als menschliches Wesen mit all seinen Grundbedürfnissen geachtet wird. Ein unendlicher Teufelskreis, der zwingend Auswegsmöglichkeiten erforderlich macht ist so entstanden. Wer kann da bald noch Täter und Opfer scheiden?
Wollen wir den 3. Weltkrieg als endloses, auf niedriger, bisweilen etwas höher loderndes flammendes Szenario ewig so weiterführen – oder – wollen wir neue Wege der Verständigung – mithin überhaupt wieder Chancen für konstruktive Diplomatie ebnen und so die Vielfalt – von Mensch und Schöpfung auf der Erde und – die damit verknüpften Rechte und Pflichten endlich anerkennen und – überhaupt uns diesem öffnen? Das erscheint da als eine der Schlüsselfragen, die aber gar nicht gestellt wird in diesem seltsam visionslosen Gemetzel – dem „Kampf der Kulturen“ als quasi Naturgesetzlichkeit folgend.
Der seltsame Wirtschaftskrieg, dem wir da in Europa beiwohnen – die von zaudernden Politikern – so genannten, häufig nicht einmal vom Wähler legitimierten Technokraten stetig weitergeführte Umverteilung aller Lasten für den Steuerzahler und Entlastung vieler eigentlich bankrotter und relativ ideenloser Unternehmer, die mit gesenkten Lohnkosten denn ja auch wieder „global wettbewerbsfähig“ sind – und der Banken – wie weit geht dieses finstere Spiel noch mit der stetigen „Schuldenbekämpfung“ und „Bankenrettung“ ohne jegliche Offensiven in Sachen reale Wende – in Sachen – friedlicher Aufbau von kooperierenden, zu fairem Handel verpflichteten Volkswirtschaften im Sinne von ökologisch-sozialen Marktwirtschaften im Zeichen der „Energiewende – in Europa und sonstwo“?
Und - weiterhin fragt sich eigentlich - wie lange hält man die Stellvertreterkriege um „neue Märkte“ an den Grenzen Europas durch - die Türkei, Syrien etc. - bevor man dann den Krieg – auch den wirklichen heißen wohl oder übel ins eigene Land – auch in Mitteleuropa lassen muss – auch wenn’s „nur“ Scharmützel gegen die eigene Bevölkerung sind?
Während also nun die selbst ernannte „beste Bundesregierung seit dem Mauerfall“ ganz im Stile neoliberaler Verantwortungslosigkeiten ganze Passagen aus „Armutsberichten“ tilgt und somit einmal mehr bar jeden Wissens und Gewissens „glänzende Arbeit leistet“ und andere Kassandras – Spatzen, die es da von den Dächern pfeifen wie der hier Schreibende schon lange mit psychiatrischen Gutachten „einsitzen“ – Gustl Mollath in Bayern, der da wohl schon früh auf Schwarzgeldgeschäfte der dortigen Hypo-Vereinsbank hinwies - wobei aufgrund der persönlichen Scheidungsgeschichte und der Misshandlungsvorwürfe von seiner Frau da noch zu viele Ungereimtheiten detaillierter – mit verschiedenen unabhängigen Gutachten in einem erneuten Verfahren zu klären sind – während manche Staaten bereits offiziell die US verlassen wollen und über Attentatspläne gegen Präsident Obama gemauschelt wird - während also China kaum noch US-Staatsanleihen kauft und mancher „in seiner inflationierenden Not“ sich auf „Einkaufs- oder - Ausverkaufstouren“ im stetig krisengeplagten und der Lage sichtlich nicht Herr oder Dame werdenden Europa vorbereitet, während das Wort von der Sklavenhaltergesellschaft immer deutlicher sich als Menetekel an der Wand abzeichnet und in der bengalischen Hauptstadt Dhaka Textilarbeiterinnen diesen „Arbeitsbedingungen“ zum Flammen- und Rauchopfer fallen und alle sich erneut dann dort bemühen, schnelle Bauernopfer zu finden, damit es morgen gleich weitergehen kann in der gefräßigen Maschinerie der entfesselten „Produktivkräfte“ auf „freien Märkten“ – während also all dies und noch vieles mehr hier sich vor unser aller Augen abspielt und – weiter verrätselt oder aufklärt schließt sich hier am 29. November 2012 mit der Anerkennung Palästinas „als Staat mit Beobachterstatus“ bei der UN der Kreis zu dem, was der Autor hier zuerst – vor bald fünf Jahren bei seinem ersten Auftritt in einem Blog-Forum im Internet beschrieben hat.
Wenn man jedoch die Karte Israels und der besetzten palästinensischen Gebiete ansieht und weiß, wie im (Neo-)Feudalismus mit Besitztiteln und Grund- und Bodenrechten umgegangen wird – schließlich ja auch eines der Hauptthemen hier - und wie dies eben auch Kern israelischer Siedlungspolitik ist – wie da Brunnen- und Wasserrechte schon früh Kernpunkte israelischer Besatzungspolitik waren – dann weiß man auch, dass es da eigentlich keinen wirklich lebensfähigen palästinensischen Staat unter diesen Bedingungen geben kann.
Die auch von führenden palästinensischen Intellektuellen und – von dem hier Schreibenden schon damals propagierte „Ein-Staatenlösung“ jedoch geht unbedingt einher mit dem Ende des „Kampfes der Kulturen“ – und der Neudefinition von Völker- und Menschenrechten im Sinne der „United Peoples“ – der „Vereinten Völker der Welt“ – unabhängig davon, ob diese Volks- und Glaubensgruppen in „eigenen Staaten“ leben oder eben Minderheiten – oft auch viele Millionen Menschen zählende in bisher zumeist von anderen Gruppen dominierten Staatsgefügen sind.
1 Die Abstimmungskarte zum „palästinensischen Beobachterstatus“ bei der UN – mit den (roten) Nein-Stimmen der US und Kanadas und den (schwarzen) Enthaltungen – auch Deutschlands, das sich so in Europa eher einmal mehr isoliert und seine Verantwortung für Frieden und Ausgleich im Nahen Osten nur bedingt aufrechterhält. Denn - eine partnerschaftlich bis freundschaftliche Zusammenarbeit sollte sich gerade auch durch eine kritische Wertschätzung des anderen auszeichnen – eben auch im Sinne dessen, dass man den Freund auf mögliche Gefahren durch eigenes wie fremdes Fehlverhalten hinweist und eben auch korrigierend warnt. Nicht einfach für Berlin – aber überfällig.
2 Die palästinensischen Gebiete – aber auch die immer weiter fortschreitende Zersetzung derselben durch israelische Siedlungen – ein Zustand, der Palästina immer in einer verzweifelten Belagerungshaltung knechten wird.
Auch die Rolle des ägyptischen Staatspräsidenten Mursi, der da den Waffenstillstand zwischen Israel und der im Gaza-Streifen herrschenden Hamas maßgeblich ausgehandelt hat und mit dieser Stärkung eine Pharao-artige Herrschaft am Nil aufzubauen trachtet – einmal mehr zeigt sich, wie überholt die Mikro-Management-Rezepte des Westens im ökonomischen Totalitarismus „neuer Märkte“ und – wie Menschenverachtend und allen Ideen von Demokratie widersprechend die Ergebnisse dann sind in dieser hoffentlich Schlussphase des alles – innere wie äußere Bewegungen und Aktionen beherrschenden „Kampfes der Kulturen“. Die so genannte – oder sich solchermaßen gebärdende „erste Welt“ gibt in ihrer kompletten Erstarrung und Mut- und Ratlosigkeit da nicht nur kein gutes Beispiel ab – in ihrer Fixierung auf Führungs- und Machtkämpfe verwaltet sie allerorten eigentlich nur den Stillstand – und die Chancen- und Perspektivlosigkeit immer größerer Teile der Menschheit. „Rasender Stillstand“ wird so immer wieder neu erzeugt, weil stetig in Ägypten und sonstwo dieselben Machtverhältnisse geschaffen werden, die aber in keinster Weise der Mehrzahl der Menschen und deren Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen zu Gute kommen. Alles bleibt eher beim Alten – ein ewiger Etikettenschwindel, der das Volk – die Menschen größtenteils nur als lästige Verwaltungseinheit – nicht aber als Entwicklungspotential betrachtet und – der diesem Misstrauen entspringend auch das stolzeste Volk verdrießt oder eben - erneut auf die Barrikaden – und die Plätze – hier Kairos Midan Tahrir bringt.
Auch so genannte „Globale Klimakonferenzen“ veranschaulichen das in ihrer völlig sinnfreien und ineffizienten Ergebnislosigkeit. So, als müssten ganz viele Technokraten und einige wenige kompetente – oder gar – „betroffene“ Menschen sich in Doha treffen, um den allerorten spür- und sichtbaren Umweltzerstörungen, die globales Verantwortungsbewusstsein – aber lokales Handeln erforderlich machen so besser ausweichen zu können. Abgesehen davon – in der „ersten Welt“ redet man immer wieder verächtlich über die Korruption in der „dritten Welt“ – was die Ineffizienz – und die Verweigerungshaltung gegenüber essentieller Veränderung und somit gegenüber Fortschritt jedoch der Verwaltungsstrukturen in dieser „ersten Welt“ betrifft ist das auch nicht gerade rühmlich. Ein weiterer Grund, warum das afghanische Volk – die Völker Afghanistans da eigentlich bald einmal den Friedensnobelpreis verdient haben, nachdem sich dieses Jahr ja Europa mit dieser Auszeichnung schmücken durfte.
Der Humanismus- jeglicher Idealismus als wesentliche Quelle Europas als friedliche – nach den Grauen der Schlachtfelder des ersten und zweiten Weltkriegs – nicht zu vergessen natürlich der Französisch-deutsche Krieg 1870/71 geläuterte Völkergemeinschaft - „der alte Kontinent“ mit den alten Erzfeinden Frankreich und Deutschland in seiner Mitte zersetzt sich immer mehr und – man muss so auch wieder das Hervorbrechen finsterer Zeiten auch für diesen besagten Alten Kontinent befürchten. Das überall sich abzeichnende komplette Festhalten an überholten Macht- und Besitzstrukturen verhindert letztlich jeglichen Fortschritt – jegliche Veränderung.
Auch die so genannte Energiewende wird so einfach unmöglich. Sie scheint- wie jegliche Veränderung- politisch nicht gewollt zu sein - das dabei vorgegebene “Tempo” hält den Entwicklungen in keinster Weise stand. Die “erste Welt” wird einmal mehr nicht zum Vorreiter, sondern zum Vor-Ausbremser. Und – diese Lektion hat der hier Schreibende in Afghanistan gelernt – alles ist Politik und – alles hängt vom Willen der Menschen – unserem Willen ab. Ob mit oder ohne politisches Mandat. In einer Demokratie selbstverständlich mit – schließlich heißt es doch hier: „Alle Staatsgewalt geht vom Volke aus.“
Und – ganz allgemein gesagt – auf „globalisierten Märkten“ hat der Alte Kontinent auch da eben eine gewisse „Vorbildfunktion“ – auch und gerade beim Thema der Innovation – technologischer wie rechtlicher – sozioökonomischen Ausgleichs und damit – Wohlstandsmehrung und – Anerkennung von Menschsein – und von Arbeit – ideeller wie materieller – geistiger wie greifbar haptischer Natur. „Vorbildfunktion“ auch für das Land am Nil – auch für andere Länder im Süden. Letztlich bedarf es – ganz allgemein gesagt – der Rückbesinnung auf bereits gemachte Erfahrungen und – der vorsichtigen Annäherung insofern an Wege in eine bessere Zukunft – auch wenn diese bisweilen alte Ängste weckt. Da muss man durch.
Es bedarf also vielerlei rechtlicher Instrumente, um Interessensausgleiche auf Wegen aus der Erstarrung des “Gewohnheitsrechts” zu schaffen. Und das auf allen Ebenen – vom Menschen- und Bürgerrecht bis zum Völkerrrecht.
Überarbeitet und ergänzt im Zuge der englischen Übersetzung
Architektur und Städtebau – jede Art von Ingenieurswissenschaften hat zunächst mit dem Ort zu arbeiten, an dem ein technischer Eingriff geschieht. Der Ort selbst ist zunächst einmal vom Klima bestimmt – Längen- und Breitengrad – die Menschen, die dort leben und ihre Traditionen – ihre Gebräuche und Rituale. Wahrscheinlich haben die Bewohner dieses Ortes diese von ihren Vorfahren übernommen, die irgendwann vor längerer Zeit an diesen Ort gekommen waren, um sich hier niederzulassen. Wahrscheinlich waren diese vorher Nomaden oder Krieger und bauten nun das erste feste Haus an dieser Stelle, die ihnen der richtige Ort zu sein schien, um ihnen und ihrer Familie ein bescheidenes und sicheres Leben zu ermöglichen.
Eine Gemeinschaft mag so entstanden sein – erst ein aus mehreren Häusern bestehender Weiler – dann ein Dorf mit noch mehr Häusern.
Wahrscheinlich war gleich zu Beginn auch ein Heiligtum dort – eine Grabesstätte eines verdienten Ahnen, die bald zu einer Kultstätte ausgebaut wurde. Dieser Ort diente also zur Erinnerung an die Alten – vielleicht gar die ersten, die sich dort niedergelassen hatten und zur Anbetung der Götter und zur Gabe von Opfern an diese. Die Götter also, die da zumeist auch die Elemente und die Tätigkeiten in bestimmten Zeiträumen verkörperten sollten den Erntezyklen der Jahreszeiten gemäß beschwichtigt und gütlich gestimmt werden – Dürren und die damit verbundenen Ernteausfälle und andere (Natur-) Katastrophen sollten so vermieden – ein reiches und glückliches Leben für alle dort in der Gemeinschaft – Kinder, Eltern, Alte ermöglicht werden. Fruchtbarkeit für Mensch und Tier – Boden und Luft war das Wichtigste, was eine glückliche Gegenwart – und eine noch schönere Zukunft erschaffen sollte. Diese solchermaßen zelebrierte dankbare und demütige Erinnerung sollte dies ermöglichen.
Später – im Zuge der Missionierung gerade durch die drei monotheistischen Weltreligionen dann wurde diese Kultstätte vielleicht zum Tempel – zur Synagoge, Moschee, Kapelle oder Kirche oder zu einer anderen Kultstätte geweiht.
Zuerst war ein Mensch da – dann der Tempel einer von Menschen begründeten Religion.
Die Henne und das Ei – auch hier wäre eine „Welt ohne uns“ Menschen also für die Wenigsten überhaupt vorstellbar. Religion – und die eine oder mehrere Gottheiten per se liefern den Menschen Halt und Erklärungsmodelle für das Unvorstellbare – als solche sollte sie denn auch allerseits geachtet und respektiert werden. Ob ein Gott oder eine Gott ähnliche Gestalt uns erschaffen hat – wer weiß es mit Sicherheit zu sagen?Das Prinzip des Glaubens an sich widerspricht dieser Gewissheit.
Wer Glauben jedoch als Gewissheit behandelt und wer mit seiner Gewissheit andere zu unterdrücken versucht - wo jedoch Religion zum weltlichen Machtinstrument wird und für sich und ihre Gruppe und Glaubensgemeinschaft eine Alleinvertretung beansprucht und wer also andere Glaubensgemeinschaften und ihre Menschen ausgrenzt und physisch und psychisch schädigt und so die Alleinherrschaft einer solchermaßen autonomisierten Religion aufbaut verletzt damit grundlegende Menschenrechte.
Ein „Toleranzedikt“ aller führenden Religionen selbst – ein entsprechend formulierter „kategorischer Imperativ“ der Glaubensfragen vermögen da am Ende des „Kampfes der Kulturen“ vielleicht erste Schritte hin zu neuen „Ausgleichen“ im Sinne Lessing’ scher Ringparabeln sein.
Die am Ort selbst vorhandenen Rohstoffe und zu erwirtschaftenden Vorräte sind irgendwann nicht mehr ausreichend und dann werden fremde Güter von anderen Orten herangeschafft, um so den Ort lebensfähig zu erhalten, während eigene Güter wieder an andere Orte exportiert werden. Das Dorf ist zum Marktplatz geworden. Es entwickelt sich dann zu einer Anhäufung oder Aneinanderreihung von dorfartigen städtischen Nachbarschaften – die Häuser werden größer – und die Menschen, die da Bürger geworden sind möchten auch mehr Wohlstand erwerben. Geschäfte wachsen also zu neuen Geschäftsvierteln zusammen – mehr Werkstätten und Handwerksbetriebe aller Art versammeln sich – ganze Industriebereiche entstehen. Der Weiler ist zu einer Gemeinde mit einer Bürgerschaft geworden – vielleicht sogar - zu einer Stadt.
An dieser Stelle hat eine architektonisch-ingenieurwissenschaftliche Strategie zur Stadtentwicklung zu fragen:
-Ist die örtliche Infrastruktur – Straßen und Wege, Wasserversorgung, Entwässerung und Kanalisation, Strom- und Internetversorgung auf eine Art gewachsen, die es der neuen Stadt ermöglicht, ein reicherer, klügerer, grünerer, gesünderer und glücklicherer Ort zu werden, der also allen Menschen, die dort leben das ermöglicht? 82
-Wie können die Vorteile der Dichte städtischer Lebensformen gefördert werden und – wie können die Menschen dabei auch am Auf- und Umbau ihrer Stadt verdienen – wie können sie also dabei eine Identität als Bürger dieses besonderen Ortes gewinnen – dieser Stadt, die diesen Namen trägt?
-Wie kann die Stadt die Identität der Vorfahren und ihrer Gründer bewahren, aber – wie kann sie innerhalb der Herausforderungen und Anforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts agieren – den “Genius loci” – den Geist des Ortes beleben – das “kollektive Gedächtnis” der Gemeinschaft anregen – die “Erzählung des Ortes” weiterführen?
Antworten, die da eine architektonisch-ingenieurwissenschaftliche Strategie zur Stadtentwicklung vorschlägt:
1.Eine Schwachpunktanalyse – eine Feststellung von Mängeln muss in Angriff genommen werden, während gleichzeitig erste Entwürfe zur Verbesserung von urbanen, architektonischen und ingenieurstechnischen Themen in Angriff genommen werden. Die Mobilisierung von humanen Ressourcen – Arbeitskräften startet gleichfalls sofort.
2.Eine Bedarfsermittlung soll erstellt werden – ein erster Kostenrahmen wird veranschlagt . Die Kostenplanung erfordert wie andere entscheidenden Fragen interaktive und aufeinander abgestimmte Antworten auf Voraussagen, wie der Ort und seine Bewohnerschaft sich mit welcher Art von Maßnahmenpaket entwickeln werden – welche kurz-, mittel- und langfristigen Perspektiven sich da also auftun.
3.Die vorhandenen lokalen Geldmittel sollen entsprechend ermittelt werden – eine nachhaltige Strategie für den Auf- und Umbau des Ortes soll in verschiedenen Phasen mit entsprechenden kurz-, mittel- und langfristigen Zielsetzungen geplant werden. Gleichzeitig sollen Vermarktungskampagnen für lokale, regionale und staatliche Fonds und Investitionsstrukturen beginnen. Finanzierungsmodelle müssen dabei auch immer hinsichtlich ihrer örtlichen Kapazitätsgewinne für die Bürgerschaft und ihre einzelnen Mitglieder überprüft werden – von oben nach unten wie eben auch von unten nach oben betrachtet.
4.Eine hohe Kommission aus örtlichen, kommunalen und staatlichen Abgeordneten und vielleicht auch supranationalen Beratern soll eingerichtet werden, um so ein rudimentäres Baurecht zu erörtern und zu beschließen anhand von Konfliktsituationen, die da vor Ort zu erwarten sind. Appeasement – Entschädigungen für Grundstückseigentümer sollen dabei gleichfalls diskutiert werden. Ein Gleichgewicht – der Ausgleich zwischen öffentlichem Wohl – Gemeinwohl – etwa dem Grundrecht auf sauberes Wasser in nachhaltigen Wasserkreisläufen und sauberer Luft und sauberem Boden und mächtigen Privatinteressen soll so vorbereitet und maßgeblich erzielt werden. Fallstudien aus den nun erstellten Planungen sollen herangezogen werden, um so dieses fragmentierte Baurecht mit diesen Zielsetzungen des Vorrangs des Gemeinwohls und des Aufbaus von Entschädigungsstrukturen einzusetzen und zu detaillieren.
5.Gespräche mit Grundstückseigentümern und Gemeinden und ihren Anführern / Vertretern oder Sprechern sollen bald anberaumt werden. Dabei sollen immer die Vorteile, der Nutzen für alle und die Integration aller Beteilligten im Hinblick auf Win-win-Situationen entstehen, die da auf nachhaltige Weise erzeugt ausgearbeitet und so veranschaulicht werden. Bürger und Gemeinden sollen also stetig informiert sein und mittels der Detaillierung der Anforderungen und gemeinnützigen Zielsetzungen sollen so Kommunikationsstrukturen von oben nach unten und von unten nach oben aufgebaut und verstärkt werden.
6.Der wichtigsten Erfordernis - einer gesunden und insofern nachhaltigen städtischen Umgebung zu Beginn des 21.Jahrhunderts soll so durch den Einsatz kluger Entwurfsverfahren begegnet werden. Besonders die Vorzüge von Umweltmaßnahmen mittels des Einsatzes von Low- oder High-Tech-Lösungen – je nach Vor- und Nachteil – nach Anforderung am jeweiligen Ort sollen so ausgearbeitet werden. Dabei soll das Hauptaugenmerk immer auf erneuerbare Energien gelegt werden. Bau- und Planungsphasen sind auch hier wieder erforderlich – die Lebensdauer von Produkten und die Effizienz sollen dabei immer in kurz-, mittel- und langfristiger Hinsicht einander gegenübergestellt und so erörtert werden.
7.Wissens- und Technologietransfer sind ein Kernpunkt jeder städtebaulich architektonischen und ingenieurswissenschaftlichen Maßnahme und ihrem Aufbauprogramm. Architekten, Ingenieure, Techniker – Handwerker und offizielle Entscheider – Beamte sollen in allen Entwurfs- und Planungsphasen einbezogen und geschult werden. Alle Projektbeteiligten sollen so in Sachen Technik, die da zum Einsatz kommt auch im Hinblick auf Betrieb und Wartung – erneut in kurz-, mittel- und langfristiger Hinsicht an diesem Ort in dieser Umgebung einbezogen werden. Somit sollen Verantwortlichkeiten erzeugt werden – Fachleute, die die Systeme kennenlernen sollen werden am Projekt selbst geschult. Hersteller und Berater bleiben jedoch immer als letzte Reserve im Hintergrund. Kommunikation und Ausbildung ist der Schlüssel – und auf stetigen Fluss und Verstärkung derselben soll immer abgezielt werden um so die bestmöglichen Lösungen an dem einen oder anderen Ort zu finden.
Auf- und Umbau eines Ortes ist der nachhaltigste Weg, um Sicherheit zu erzeugen. Die Integration von örtlichen Bürgerschaften – der Menschen darin ist erforderlich, um ein friedliches Zusammenleben zu ermöglichen. Letztlich ist das Bauen – so wie das Handeln für sich eine tief im Menschsein verwurzelte menschliche Tätigkeit – ein integrativer Bestandteil des Menschseins an sich.
Und – wichtigste Prämisse ist immer – mit den Menschen zu arbeiten – sie als Partner zu akzeptieren und ihnen auf Augenhöhe – mit Respekt und Achtung vor ihrer (Lebens-) Erfahrung – und vor dem, was sie durchgemacht haben zu begegnen – also – mit den Menschen an der Verbesserung ihrer Mitwelt zu arbeiten – nicht über ihnen. Und dabei Fehler- eigene wie Fremde zuzulassen, aber – nach mindestens 4-Augenprinzip denn auch diese korrigieren und nicht verdecken und – bald zu Fehlerkaskaden anhäufen. Offene und besonnene Kommunikation – Empathie ist also stetige Grundvoraussetzung für gute Arbeit in diesem Sinne.
So wollte der hier Schreibende auch in Afghanistan - auch und zu allererst seiner beruflichen und allgemeinen Lebenserfahrung entsprechend arbeiten, aber – seine “Partner” und Mitarbeiter – und – vor allem das in den üblichen „Mikromamagement-Strukturen“ gefangene „verantwortliche Management“ haben dies nie verstanden und auch nie entsprechend die leisesten Vorkehrungen dafür bewerkstelligen können. Und – bald lagen seine Nerven ja dann auch blank, war es doch deutlich, dass er aussortiert würde als feindliches Element – als Bauernopfer für das Scheitern eines Projektes, bei dem er letztlich allein auf weiter Flur stand. Die oftmals von ihm bald mit einem Augenzwinkern in Deutschland aufgestellte Behauptung, bei solchermaßen langsamen Verfahrensweisen und Entschiedungsprozessen wie hier wäre er in Afghanistan, wo Leidens- und Zeitdruck eben sehr groß sind sofort – und zu Recht erschossen worden weist ja unmittelbar darauf hin. Letztlich wird in technokratischen Strukturen immer der zu schnell nach vorne prescht – in der Regel der erfahrene und lösungsorientierte Stratege zumeist von hinten abgeschossen. Die „Umstände“ waren aber auch alles andere als leicht. Mit der im Raum stehenden Bedrohung jedoch, dass Afghanistan nach 2014 in einen erneuten Bürgerkrieg zurückfällt und das zweite Machtvakuum Pakistan daneben mit immer mehr „Bärtigen“ in der Armee und einem großen Nuklearwaffenarsenal ein viel größeres Gefahrenpotential birgt, sollte den meisten klar sein, dass da dringendst die Schwerpunkte verlagert werden müssen – hin zu einem wirklich strukturierten Wiederaufbau der gesamten Region – Frieden sichern und aufbauen und nicht Krieg hinterlassen sollte da die Devise sein.
Und – da Richard Sennett’s Spruch über gutes „Handwerk”: „Gute Arbeit leisten heißt neugierig sein, forschen und aus Unklarheiten lernen- “ 83 leider eher die Ausnahme heute darstellt als die Regel wurden dort lediglich ein Jahr Planungskosten und - natürlich die Ausbildung eines Teams von Architekten, Ingenieuren und „Batschas“ – ungelernten, aber klugen und ehrgeizigen Hilfsarbeitern von den Baustellen verbucht. Wirklicher substantieller und „nachhaltiger“ Wiederaufbau, der eben Land und Leuten wirklich längerfristig und zudem als Signal wirkend zu Gute kommt indes wurde verhindert.
In der taz ist ein Kommentar von Monika Hauser am 27.10.2012 mit der Zeile „Die Kraft der Frauen“ und dem kleiner gedruckten Titel„NACH JAHRZEHNTEN DES KRIEGS IST DIE AFGHANISCHE GESELLSCHAFT TRAUMATISIERT“ 84 überschrieben. „Der Artikel ist gut - in seiner Fokussierung auf Frauenrechte bedient er jedoch zu viele gängige Clichés hier in Deutschland. Ich habe selbst mit Frauen dort in Afghanistan gearbeitet, die die mutigsten Kämpferinnen für ihre Rechte - und die Rechte ihrer Familien waren und sind. Ganz viele Sima Samars – jene afghanische Ärztin und Frauenrechtlerin also, die 2012 den „alternativen Nobelpreis“ erhält, gibt es da. Solange aber keine Aufbau- und Jobkonzepte verfolgt werden, die den afghanischen Männern das Recht und die Möglichkeit geben, den Warlords zu trotzen und ihre Scholle aufzubauen - für sich und ihre Familie - solange also kein fragmentiertes Recht eingesetzt wird, das Gemeinwohl über starke Privatinteressen setzt - also - Appeasement-Strukturen gegenüber Landlords/ Vermietern ermöglicht wird es nach 2014 zum erneuten Bürgerkrieg kommen. Daran werden auch starke Frauen nichts ausrichten können. Habe dies alles lang und breit aufgeschrieben - die Tatsache, dass es keine Verlage dafür gibt in Deutschland - aber auch keine Unterstützung in den US spricht Bände.“
Im Spiegel Heft -Nr. 43 vom 22.10.2012 wird ein Artikel von Guido Mingels mit „Asadullahs Spiel“ überschrieben. Darunter steht im Titel: „Die Fußballer wurden im Fernsehen gecastet, ihr Stadion war früher ein Ort für Hinrichtungen. Afghanistans erster Fußball-Cup soll Frieden bringen. Manche Spieler riskieren dafür ihr Leben.“ 85 „Es bedarf viel mehr solcher Arten der Berichterstattung über das Land am Hindukusch, die eben auch verdeutlichen, dass da einerseits überwiegend Menschen mit der Sehnsucht nach Frieden leben, dass aber andererseits dieser immer wieder bedroht ist - in jedem einzelnen Moment. Von der “Zentralasiatischen Brücke” spricht man in den Medien kaum noch - letztlich ist die Rolle dieses Landes aber im geostrategischen Sinne durchaus vergleichbar mit der Rolle Deutschlands in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Als ich im Sommer 2010 nach 1 1/2 Jahren Arbeit an einem Regenerationsprojekt für knapp 4 Hektar der verslumten und kriegszerstörten Altstadt Kabuls nach Deutschland zurückkam, da stellte ich mir bald die Frage, wie lange deutsche Staatsbürger im Jahre 201- einen Zustand stetiger Unsicherheit und Bedrohung von allen Seiten so aushalten würden wie es das afghanische Volk seit nunmehr bald 33 Jahren tun muss. Artikel wie dieser helfen dabei, dieser existentiellen Frage mehr Gehalt und Substanz zu geben“ - kommentierte der hier Schreibende dazu.
Nach einem Jahr – kurz vor Tod des Projektes zur „nachhaltigen urbanen Wasserwirtschaft“ der knapp 4 Hektar Altstadtslum von Kabul wurde dem hier Schreibenden ein Bericht vorgelegt, der letztlich all das, was Grundlage der seit einem Jahr also laufenden Planung gewesen war „wissenschaftlich“ und „statistisch“ belegte. -Die Gesundheitsgefährdung der Bewohner der Siedlung durch -offene Kanäle aus Betonfertigteilen oder Bruchstein zur Ableitung von Grauwasser. -Aufgrund der zusammengebrochenen Systeme der Entsorgung von Trockentoiletten o.ä. war das Grauwasser in diesen offenen Kanälen vermischt mit Schwarzwasser -Fäkaliengerüche- Schwefelgase besonders in Bodennähe – also am gefährlichsten für Kinder verursachen langfristig Nerven-/ Hirnschäden -Das aus Brunnen gepumpte Trinkwasser wird durch die entsprechend schlecht isolierten offenen Kanäle und die Versickerung der Abwässer in tiefere Grundwasserschichten verunreinigt. Der Bericht stellte also im Sinne einer völlig unbeweglichen und konzeptlosen Stagnationsverwaltung „wissenschaftlich“, mit „statistischen Methoden“ und „bunten Grafiken“ das dar, was jeder, der im Hinblick auf eine Verbesserung derSituation von Ingenieursseite dort arbeiten wollte schnell bemerkt hatte – wenn er also Kopf, Herz, Hand und Fuß einsetzte und etwas Erfahrung – gerade auch mit Arbeiten in einem Nach- oder Noch-Kriegs-Land im „unterentwickelten Süden“ mitbrachte. Und – bei den Befragungen zur Ermittlung „stat(ist)ischer Werte“ wurden die Bewohner denn auch zu ihrer Zufriedenheit mit dem Ort und der Lebenssituation befragt. Natürlich war man zufrieden – (Über-)Lebenskunst bedeutet, dass man auch am Abgrund der Hölle noch ans Überleben glaubt – und an eine gewisse Lebensqualität dort. Aber – eine der simpelsten Grundregeln jeglichen „Marktgeschehens“ lautet – das Angebot regelt die Nachfrage. Wenn also ein seit über einem halben Jahrhundert bankrotter Staat keine vernünftigen infrastrukturellen Angebote machen kann und alles auf bescheidene Selbsthilfe hinausläuft und die „Helfer“ da lieber schöne Holzschnitzereien exportieren als essentielle Grundbedürfnisse der Menschen als Modellprojekt aufzubauen – dann werden Helfer bald zu Besatzern, die da nicht viel von dem Ort und seinen Menschen verstanden haben. Und – dann müssen sie gehen oder – sie sollten durch kompetentere Leute ausgewechselt werden - oder - man versucht eben gemeinsam konzeptionell zu arbeiten - und - die Finanzierung der lokalen, infrastrukturellen Verbesserungen geschieht eben zum Beispiel auch durch den Verkauf von Kunst - durch fairen Austausch und Handel.
Dafür ist aber eben auch ein politischer Wille erforderlich – die Einsicht mithin in die Notwendigkeit, etwas “nachhaltig” – also ganzheitlich aufzubauen – mit und für die Menschen dort. In Anbetracht dessen, was dort lange geschehen ist, ist dies nicht nur ein ethisches Gebot – es ist auch ein ökonomisches, weil es Perspektiven – Zukunft jenseits des stetigen Verfalls und der sinnlosen Zerstörung eröffnet. Für beide - alle Seiten und Beteiligten zudem.
„Renaissancen“ – Wiedergeburten eines Ortes und seiner Bürgerschaft hat es immer wieder in ganz vielen Größenordnungen gegeben im Laufe der Geschichte der Menschheit – und der Stadt als eine ihrer größten Erfindungen.
Architecture and urban development – any kind of engineering has first of all to work with the place, where a technical implementation is planned.
The place itself is shaped by the climate – altitude and latitude – the people living there and their traditions – their conventions and rituals. Locals might have adapted those from their ancestors, who once upon a time came to that place for settling there. They might have been nomads and warriors before and now built the first stable house at that location, they found to be the right place for enabling their family a modest nice and safe life.
A community might have emerged from that – first a hamlet of some houses – than a village with more houses.
Perhaps already in the beginning there already has been a sanctuary – a tomb of a merited ancestor, which soon then was expanded as a place of worship. This place then served for remembering the ancients – perhaps even the first ones to settle there and for worshipping the Gods and for giving them sacrificial offerings. The Gods, who mostly also shall embody the elements and the activities in certain times and spaces should have been appeased and disposed amicably according to the harvest cycles of the four seasons. Droughts and the crop shortfalls connected with that and other (natural) catastrophes should be prevented – a rich and happy life for everybody there in the community – children, parents, the elderly should be enabled. Fertility – for humans and animals – soil and the air was the most important thing, which should create a happy presence – and an even more beautiful future. This grateful and humble memory should enable that. Later then – in the course of proselytization particularly by the three monotheistic world religions this sacred place might have been consecrated to a temple – a synagogue, a mosque, a chapel or a church or another cult place. First of all there was a human being – then the temple of a religion founded by humans. The hen and the egg – for most people a „World without us“ also here wouldn’t be imaginable at all. Religion – and the one God or other deities per se deliver some foothold and – explanatory models for the unthinkable and as such it should then also be honored and respected on all sides. Whether a God or a God like being has created us – who knows to say it safely? Who instead treats the belief as certainty and who then tries to domineer others with that certainty – where though religion becomes a profane instrument of power and for oneself andthe own group and community of faith a sole agency is claimed and who then segregates other communities of faith and their members and harms them physically and mentally is that way building up a government of an autonomous religion , which hurts basic human rights.
An “Edict of Toleration” by all leading religions themselves – a “categoric imperative” verbalized according to questions of belief might be able to be some first steps towards new “adjustments” in the sense of Lessing’s Ring parables at the end of the “clash of civilizations”.
Local resources might have been consumed soon and then foreign goods might have been imported from other places for sustaining life – other goods might have been exported. The village has become a market place. It then developed to an agglomeration of village-like urban neighborhoods – houses became taller – but people, who had become citizens also wanted to gain wealth. Shops grow together to new shopping areas – more workshops of craftsmen and cobblers gather together – whole industrial branches emerge. The hamlet has become a township with its own citizenship – perhaps even a city.
At that stage an architectural engineering strategy for urban development has to ask:
-Did the local infrastructure – roads and pathways, water supply, sewage, electricity, internet supply etc. grow in a way, that enables the new city to become a richer, smarter, greener, healthier and happier place – making all people, living there, profit from that? 82
-How can the advantages of proximity of urban life be invigorated and – how can people profit from building their city – how can they win an identity – as citizens of that special place – the city, bearing that name?
-How can the city manage to keep the identity of the ancestors and founders, but – how can it act within the challenges and demands of the 21st century – vitalizing the “genius loci” – animating the “collective memory” of the community – continuing the “narration of the place”?
Answers, an architectural engineering strategy for urban development proposes:
1.A weak-point analysis- a deficit research has to be started, while simultaneously first design proposals for upgrading urban, architectural and engineering features are tackled. The mobilization of human resources – of staff also starts immediately.
2.An assessment of demands has to be started – a first budget plan is assessed. All these essential questions ask for interactive and correlating answers to forecasts, how the place and the community will develop itself with which kind of intervention – in which short-, mid- and long-term perspectives.
3.Local financial resources have to be evaluated equivalently – a sustainable strategy for upgrading the place needs to be planned in several phases – with short-, mid- and long-term evaluation of benefits according to that. Simultaneously marketing campaigns for local, regional and federal funds and investment have to be started. Funding models also always need to be checked according to benefits regarding local capacity building – for the citizenship as a whole as much as for singular citizens. All that has to be regarded in a top down as much as a bottom to top way.
4.A high commission – with local, regional and federal board members and perhaps supranational advisors shall be established to discuss rudimentary building laws to be implemented according to the conflicts to be expected on the ground. Appeasement - refunds for stakeholders therein simultaneously have to be discussed. The balance between public welfare and powerful private interests – for instance the basic rights for clean water – in sustainable water management circles and clean air and clean soil has to be prepared and targeted. Test cases – resulting from the planning processes now shall be used for installing and detailing this kind of fragmented building laws – always aiming at the priority of public welfare and the installation of structures for appeasement and refund – and that way also detailing this more and more.
5.Talks with stakeholders and communities and their leaders need to be scheduled soon. The focus should always be on benefits for all participants and integration of all of them. Therein advantages – the benefits for all participants and those integrative aspects - win-win-situations shall be created and be reinforced and represented in a sustainable way. Citizens and communities shall always be kept informed and demands shall be detailed – invigorating the top-down and bottom to top communication skills.
6.The demands of a healthy and sustainable urban environment at the beginning of the 21st century shall be accomplished by the input of smart design methods. Particularly measuring climatic – better- local environmental benefits and disadvantages – the charge of low-tech or high-tech applications according to benefits and disadvantages of any location shall be evaluated. The focus shall always be on renewable energies to be installed. Phasing also here is essential – life spans of products and efficiency need to be contrasted to each other and that way shall be calculated in short, mid and long term perspective.
7.Technology and knowledge transfer are a core element of any architectural and engineering intervention for an urban development strategy as a systematic upgrading program. Architects, engineers, technicians - builders and officials shall be integrated and trained in all design phases – solutions have to be targeted also focused on operation and maintenance and on short-, mid- and long term functionality at that place in that environment. That way responsibilities are created with skilled people getting to know the systems, who are trained within the design process itself. The producers and consultants always stay as last reserve in the background though. Communication and training is the key – and shall always be flowing and shall be invigorated for being worked out in a target-oriented way - for finding the best solutions possible at this place or the other.
Building and rebuilding a place is the most sustainable way for arriving at safety and security. Integrating local communities - people therein is essential for peace-building – for enabling people to live together in a peaceful way. In the final analysis just like dealing and trading building per se is also an activity deeply rooted in being a human being – an integrative part of being human per se.
And – the most important premise is always to work with the people – to accept them as partners and to meet them on eye-level – with respect and honoring their experience and what they have gone through – thus – working with the people on improving their environment – not above them. And – therein it’s also essential to accept mistakes and failures – the ones, we make and the others make, but – following the 4-eye-principle then correcting and not hiding them and that way – soon then piling them up to cascades of mistakes. Open and considerate level-headed communication – with a lot of empathy thus is a permanent basic condition for good work in this spirit.
That way the one writing here also wanted to work in Afghanistan – also and first of all following his professional and general experience, but – his „partners“ and colleagues – and particularly the „responsible management“ trapped in common „micromanagement structures“ has never understood that and was never able to establish the least precautions for realizing that. And – soon then his nerves were blank, as it became evident, that he might soon be rejected as a hostile element – sacrificed as a pawn for the failure of a project, where he finally was just by himself left alone. The comment, he put forward more often soon then in Germany with some twinkle in his eye, that, if he had acted within that slow procedures and decision processes in Afghanistan, where the psychological strain and the time pressure are just very high he would have immediately got shot – and that rightly also proximately hints towards that. In the end in technocratic structures always the one, who dashs forward too quickly – as a general rule the experienced and solution oriented strategic mostly gets shot down from the behind. The “circumstances” though were just anything but easy. With the threat staying unresolved though, that Afghanistan after 2014 might fall back into a new civil war and the second power vacuum Pakistan besides with increasingly more “bearded” persons in the army and a huge arsenal of nuclear weapons hiding a much bigger risk potential for most people should become evident, that the focus urgently needs to be transferred towards a truly structured rehabilitation of the whole area – safeguarding and building peace but consigning war should be the device.
And – as Richard Sennett’s quote dealing with good “Handcraft”: “Doing a Good job means being curious, do research and learn from obscurities – “ 83 unfortunately rather nowadays represents the exception but the rule just one year of planning costs and – of course the training of a team of architects, engineers and “batschas” – unskilled, but smart and ambitious laborers from the sites was entered in the books. Truly substantial and “sustainable” rebuilding, from which the country and its people really would benefit in long terms and which would really effect as a signal was prevented.
In the German Daily newspaper – the tageszeitung a comment by Monika Hauser from October 27th, 2012 is headlined with “The Power of Women” and the smaller printed subtitle “AFTER DECADES OF WAR THE AFGHAN SOCIETY IS TRAUMATIZED” 84 . “The comment is written quite well – in its focus on women’s rights though it confirms too many popular clichés here in Germany. Me myself I have worked with many women there in Afghanistan, who were – and still are the toughest fighters for their rights – and the rights of their families. There are many Sima Samars – this Afghan physician and women’s right activist, who in 2012 receives the “Alternative Nobel prize”. As long though, as there are no rebuilding and job concepts prosecuted, which give Afghan men the right and the possibility to brave the warlords and to build up their clod – for themselves and their family – as long, as no fragmented law is installed, where public welfare is ranked higher then strong private power interests – thus – enabling appeasement structures towards landlords there will definitely come a new civil war after 2014. Also strong and powerful women can’t accomplish anything against that. I have written about that in a long rigmarole – the fact, that there’s no publishing house for that in Germany – but also no support from the US speaks volumes.” In the Spiegel No. 43 from October 22nd, 2012 an article by Guido Mingels is headlined with “Asadullahs Game”. Below that is written: “The football players are casted on TV. Their stadium formerly was a place for executions. Afghanistan’s first Football-Cup shall bring peace. Some players even risk their lives for that. “ 85 “It needs much more news coverage like that dealing with the country at the Hindu Kush. Reports, which also just illustrate, that on one hand there are living predominantly people longing for freedom, but that this is always threatened – in every single moment. The media don’t refer any more to the “Central Asian Bridge” – ultimately though the role of the country in its geostrategical context is quite comparable to Germany’s role at the start into the 20th century. When I returned to Germany in summer 2010 after one and a half years work on a regeneration project for about 4 hectares – 9.4 acres at a war-torn old town slum at Kabul I soon asked myself, for how long German citizens in the year 201- would tolerate a permanent state of insecurity and threats from all sides the way, the Afghan people have to suffer from that since now almost about 33 years. Articles like that are supportive in giving this existential question some more content and substance” – the author of these lines here commented on that.
After one year – shortly before the project of the “sustainable urban water management” for these four hectares of Kabul’s old town slum died the one writing here received a report, which lately proved everything, that had been the basic concept for the whole planning process running since one year in a “scientific” way and statistically firm.
-The health hazards for the dwellers of that settlement caused by
-open channels made from precast concrete or stone masonry for drainage of grey water.
-Because of the collapsed systems for the recycling of human waste collected in dry toilets or similar the grey water in these open channels was mixed with black water
-Fecal matters and their gases – sulfuric gases particularly above the ground – that way most dangerous for children cause long term neurological and brain damages
-The drinking water pumped from wells is contaminated as well by these accordingly badly isolated open channels and the infiltration of sewage into deeper ground water layers.
The report in terms of a completely paralyzed administration of stagnation lacking any concept “scientifically” with “statistic methods” and “colorful graphics” represented what everybody, who with regard to an improvement of the situation from an engineering side wanted to work there had noticed very early – when this engineer used head, heart, hand and foot and some experience – particularly bringing in some work experience in a post-war or still-war-country in the “underdeveloped South”. And – within the interviews for ascertaining the “stat(ist)ic datas” the residents were also asked about, how satisfied they were with the place and their living conditions there. Obviously people were quite satisfied – the arts of living also means, that you’re believing into your survival – and into a certain kind of quality of life also when looking into the abyss of hell yet. But – one of the crudest basic rules of any kind of “market action”is the law of supply and demand – the supply ruling the demand. When then a country is bankrupt since more than half a century and cannot provide reasonable infrastructural supply and everything is moved towards a modest self-help and the “helpers” rather like to export nice wood carvings then building up essential basic needs of the local population by model projects – then helpers soon turn to become occupants, who haven’t understood a lot of the place and its people. And – then they might have to go or – they should be replaced by more competent people – or – they just try to work together in a conceptional way – and – the funding of local infrastructural improvements that way for instance might also happen with the sale of arts – within fair exchange and trade.
For arriving there a political will is essential – the understanding consequently of the necessity of building something “sustainable” – thus holistic with and for the people living there. Seeing that, what happened there for long time this isn’t just an ethical commandment – it’s also an economic imperative, as it offers perspectives towards a future beyond permanent decline and senseless destruction. A future for both – for all sides and the participants furthermore.
„Renaissances“ – rebirthes of places and their communities have always time and again taken place in many different scales in the course of the history of humanity – and the city as one of its greatest inventions.
It has already been hinted here towards the fact, that the collective memory of a place – of the people – thus many humans, who might also be subsumed in a “nation” can often be significantly more meaningful while evaluating events and developments than some numerical values condensed in statistics. One might also refer to the “head side” of the medal for using that image again. Following “the primacy of economics” everywhere though it looks, as if the “tail side” of the medal always was drawn on as it were in an autarchy – the head side, emblematicly attesting to the history of that coin only really becomes a parameter for action and therefore a helper for decision making in subliminal, rather apparently irrational procedural manners. The small edge in between – what actually holds together head and tail is permanently marginalized. In the final analysis though the balancing act between head and tail – between ideal amd materialized content – and value determines, what will be the result at the end – the famous “shot in the dark” – or – nonstarter and “barrel burst” – “a preliminary – temporary false front” going along with an unbelievable waste of resources and a relatively low social added value or instead – a “sustainable” – better – a “future-proof” value. Thus something, that in a materialized way is able to follow up the narration of th place and the people living there.
Something instead, the current “market players” on all levels of the hamster wheels of success globally still seem miles apart of. If it were the everywhere bouncing “Great Powers”, who partly are paralyzed with their recourse to outdated mindsets and with that fallback into feudal structures overlay their own and foreign nations – if it were singular, rather local players, who cannot make any progress in that “total democracy” 3, the “technocratic demacrotism”, where any behavior is rather anything but targeted towards a consensus on fragmented “markets”, which are bound to the most powerful pressure groups. That way any freedom of action is becoming increasingly more trapped and limited.
The collective memory in this respect displays, what the numeric value in its short-termed existing flow isn’t able to perceive at all – consistency and liability within change – change, which also comprises the conversion – the building process per se once again as an immanent act in human’s physical and haptic - as much as metaphysical – up to spiritual existence.
The downside of the medal of disdainful materialism in its unilateral numbers games after all is, that the head side is appearing to be of no interest. That’s why one permanently hits the wall with it. And therefore one needs to sacrifice pawns to be responsible for the wounds and losses – partly also the losses of grey cells. Would one switch on the head and refrain from nearsighted numbers games only “contemplating” on things but rather think through them one would equivalently hurt oneself. The “total democracy” of “technocratic demacrotism” though interdicts any somehow emphatically motivated action – within shortened perspectives there’s no time for that – therefore in the event horizon of the collapsing moment also no space at all.
Is the universe that way a simulation, displayed there in front of us? Have some physicists from the university Bonn found an answer to Plato and his Parable of the Cave? 47
“So - with physics itself this isn’t explicable. The whole approval is more about metaphysics. And - as the theory tells us, what we’re able to observe - like Einstein used to say we’re back to the hen and egg-problem: Does everything exist, because we’re able to observe its existence and state its physical texture or does everything exist also without us perceiving it? It definitely does, but the problem of anthropocentrism and vanity - up to narcissism also of scientists often excluded that fact - that we’re just less than sand grains. Or - to say it with Paul Virilio: “At the end of the day everything just exists as a projection of light. We are distances of light. The whole technology is just a late solar cult”.48
“You might regard it just from the other side of the fence - we here assume, that Plato and his observation were a real observation, asking us about reality and - the assumption of us within that reality. But - we’re here - our shadows as well. They are the most existential part of our experience. And - without the Arabic Aflaton - Aflatoon in Farsi we even wouldn’t know Plato, as “they in the orient” kept that essential part of our common “collective memory”, when we “in the occident” had all lost it.”
Looks at the wider picture therefore are essential everywhere, for finding exits out of assumed blind alleys. “Truth” and “lie” are multifaceted terms, which in everyday’s language use are applied terrifyingly lacking any reflection – the “own personal truth” – one out of intrinsically many that way too frequently becomes an exclusive dogma – a condition sine qua non of thought-terminating clichés and killer arguments lacking any reflection. Appearently most humans need to start again to discover the shadow of their own existence. Has the “modern man” in the pale reflection of the how ever many “Post-modern-times” we had sold his shadow similar to Adelbert von Chamisso’s „Schlemihl“ –in trade for “a coffer full of gold, which will never run dry”? 49 Peter Schlemihl soon needs to recognize, that the loss of the shadow also means “the exclusion from the human society. As soon, as people realize, that he doesn’t have a shadow they become scared and keep a certain distance from him or they ridicule him. “ 49 Or – to ask the other way around – does the supposed hopelessness causing apocalyptic fears, most people at many places are feeling in view of the changing times result from the Rumpelstiltskin-like self-externalization of societies, which have sold every singular shadow during the withdrawal into private space and now lacking any community and exposed to the glistening sunshine and wind and cold are looking for answers in deserted “public spaces” – but aren’t capable any more though to pose the truly existential questions in those spaces arguably lacking any echo? Is it here already that way, that this „post-post x-modern human” has to overcome him- or herself for finally finding an exit out of that self as much as foreign enacted solitude? Or – once more asked the other way around – has that „post-post x-modern human”, who mostly regards him or herself as “heritage of enlightenment” or even having stood in the light of that era perhaps did not notice at all in all his or her narcissism and admiration for the species as “the pride of creation”, that those, who for instance in Italy spoke in favor of “the Sportsbar” and that way waved the Cavaliere Berlusconi again and again into the arena and in Germany “indulge in the regulars’ table” actually already had deposited any “heritage of enlightenment”? Was it actually fact, that those, who ergo imposed the archaic primitive methodology of homicide and these modes of behavior, which only had powerful self-interests and their unconditional compliance in its mind almost as an “art form”, while the „post-post x-modern human” that way was forced to a defenseless acceptance – up to an act of “self-surrender” – simply, because the shadow had already been sold in the fire signals of the 20th century – whereas he himself in his longing for freedom and harmony was still sunbathing in the “glistening light of enlightenment” but thereby inevitably lost sight of the fact, that he was defenselessly at the mercy of this bustling activity, while others were eagerly attending to their business in the half shade and would not in the least let themselves be disturbed – as it was up to them alone to define, where there was shadow and where there was light? Because – basically as these “elites” acting in their own space-time-continuum in the half-shade were threatened by that “light of enlightenment” in their sphere of influence – then they simply switched it off without further ado and ignored those, who weren’t that amused about that noticeably. And – did those then pose themselves into a light, that in reality didn’t even exist any more?
A “new” metaphysics- a “new” mysticism – “archaic structuralism” – however one might call it – for sure it’s essential to perceive “disturbed balances” 50 and to rediscover many things, which seemed to be some irrevocable and absolute truth - also, for relocating ourselves anew in a world full of confusing facts and – beautiful diversity in these times. Also for discovering chances and challenges – instead of crises and threats lying there in front of us – and inside of us. And – what is there behind of us. „Lost in Transition“ 51 – on plains without any shelter – without any protection we’ve been quite long enough.
Because – a human without a shadow is like a human without any history – a tree without roots and as such not able to survive. His twigs are stretching into the skies – towards the sun, the nourishing clouds, but – the substance at his roots – the earth – the native soil that way more and more looses its power. The multiply cut off roots hardly find any more nutrition – the water from the well in addition to that is proverbially poisoned.
He or she – the human without a shadow is lost in a forest without trees – a plain without any shelter – a despair without end – trapped in a wad of heavy steel cables – invisible linkages paralyzing him – keeping him on the floor, where she actually needs to be able to jump for surviving the obstacles rushing up to us. 50
Liao Yiwu, who just received the Peace Award of the German book trade on October 14th – I for myself understand his utter bitterness, which is expressed in the phrase: “The Empireneeds to break apart” quite well. Several times he amends that phrase in some broken German and that way even more striking there in his Chinese speech at St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt. The one writing here – he’s definitely with him. 43
The prophet- he doesn’t count at all in his own country. Less than that. Or – perhaps more. He’s some dirt – an annoyance – a taboo – his name counts for the powerful – But also for the powerless equalizers as Unspeakable writing on the wall 44 – his speech – he will only be able to hold it in some inner or exterior exile.
In doing so he will need to use his own language and – In fact within all these strange speeches just a part of himself will be there – If it were in that church there in that foreign country – if it were at any other hideout shelter, Granting him asylum in a foreign country – the perhaps anciently own one.
The biggest part of his soul – the source of unterrified words coming from darkness and obscurity – he will just be there – again and again captured at that place – the prison, where he was tortured – the cell, where he has been rebuffed to time and again – humiliated – dishonored – hurt at his body and his soul. The place of terror, whose voices he will hear again and again – whose obnoxious paws will time and again surround him – whose gloomy looks want to intimidate him again and again - whose weapons push him into the corner – wanting to drill deep holes into his flesh time and again. The beautiful thoughts – the fur, that has been dragged over his ears when he has been taken for a ride – they have been replaced by the shining steel of the knife cast from words, he used for cutting open his torturers’ armor of tyranny – for creating some space for the beauty and the tenderness – the quiet and hidden things. His pleading for freedom – for humanity – it hurts the wealthy ones in their ears – it’s the scream, he exclaims again and again and he perceives from others, to whom he lends his voice – so that their pain, their harms, they have whispered into his ears don’t sink into silent waters of forgetfulness.
If literature also shall build bridges and shall lend its voice also to dumb victims of history – why then are the own bitter experiences, the one writing here has minuted in Afghanistan and later about this country and its brave people – its always hoping people permanently ignored in Germany? Why is there no lobby for strengthening people in the structured regeneration of their country – as if oneself had done that just about two generations ago without any foreign aid? Why are the multiple Greek voices – the laments of mothers and fathers, who cannot feed their kids any more and are about to loose them – why are the screams of Spanish youths – the lost generation permamently ignored – refugees like all of us in the own house, assailed by refugees from crumbling houses and worlds, which cannot give any shelter any more for people, who are still able to hope? Why do people look into the distance – hints to all cruelties happening there – But tend to ignore the own misdoings, which are threatening to increase – to become more tremendous – as the rain falls down – the misdoings, already happening in one’s own house? 45
That many reports – that many questions – 46 Posed by a spiritual brother of Liao Yiwu, Who cannot feed his own kids any more – a waste – somebody forgotten, Whose honor and pride in his voice are the only things, which cannot be taken away from him.
Here as much as there, where the prophets in their own country are suppressed and fought. “For a song and a hundred songs” – a joint song on freedom – a joint choral of accusation against those forgetting history – those suppressing our multiple voices. The voices now becoming louder. The voices of resistance against forgetting – The voices of the memory – the remembrance of suppressed living worlds - here as much as there – on the garbage dumps of history.
The anew answer from Tokyo arrived two days later, on October 8th:
“Thank you so much for your e-mail reply. It was very interesting and informative. Yes, I thought Mark will be reused in the future like Swiss Franc but Euro will not end so soon. We received News that in Italy and Spain the governments cannot purchase gasoline for public use car. But we do not receive Germany’s stagflation news so much yet. I had the forecast that before receiving US or EU area or Japan’s inflation trend, we may face the possibility of ultimate deflation. In fact - US 10 year T bond is at 1.39% !! 36 And Germany’s 10 year government bond might arrive at a bottom price in 2012. So they may start rising after 30 years strength uptrend ended. As you know already the Swiss and Japanese economy have been hit by deflation. So I thought that the possibility that Germany will become another Switzerland with confirming 10 year governmrent bond price. This month,Swiss Government Bond 10Y is dealt with 0.55%. Japanese Government Bond is at 0.78% ( but Japan’s nonpublic bank has to do a compulsory purchase).German 10 year government bond is dealt with 1.5%. They are all the lowest countries. Korea, which had a 52% export ratio for its GDP in 2011 seems to start to receive Stagflation – government bonds are dealt with 2.95%. I remembered Germany’s most serious Hyperinflation in the past was between WW1 and WW2 after reading your e-mail reply !!! But in history – in the time after the 18th century war has happened under the deflation economy mainly. I thought Roosevelt who was a Military Keynesianism thinker has chosen Japan as a scapegoat. But on the other hand Hitler was very clever and he declined the provocation from Roosevelt. Japan’s role in WW2 is very similar with Iraq in the past and perhaps Iran in the future. Again, I think, the trigger itself is from China. Thank you.”
In a short answer then the one writing here thanked the friend from Tokyo and assured to give her some further informations and trend reports in these tense and shifting times soon. Nonetheless first of all there are three things to be emphasized here: 1.The appraisement of Hitler being a “clever statesman” comes from Japan – it hasn’t slipped out of the mouth or the feather of the author here, who was born in Germany and (still) is equipped with a passport of that country, who here quotes (and translates) that message of a Japanese friend. The angle of vision and the context are definitely to be kept in mind. The author’s personal familial relationship to that striking breakage not only in Occidental history has already been a significant subject elsewhere here. 2.FD Roosevelt’s relationship to Japan and to Keynes has to be regarded in this context as well. The restraint, FDR was exposed to in consideration of fascism rising everywhere in Europe with Hitler soon on top of the warmongers, who would only be able to go through any changing times – passing any turning point without blood and soil were enormous. The central theme of appeasement or rather a soon entry into the war of the US here already was picked out. 37 Particularly regarding Keynes his polemic pamphlet to the Treaty of Versailles has to be amended here: “The British economist John Maynard Keynes was the first to see the “catastrophe following the catastrophe” (Dorothea Hauser) rising on the horizon in his pamphlet War and Peace, which was first edited in 1920 and now (2006) is being reissued again. … It’s leisured to speculate about the thought, whether the history of the Weimar Republic would have gone a dfferent way, if Keynes’ proposals to change the Peace Treaty – settling it on more rational and economically more realistic targets had been considered. The brilliant polemic pamphlet though shows, that the dangers were evident quite early and that there were alternatives existing. “ 38 Keynes tendency though to make out just one main responsible for the fire signal– the French prime minister Clemenceau shall not be repeated here. Ludwig Erhard’s term of“buying power for the masses” in connection with the “social market economy” in West-Germany as the “Rhenish Capitalism” also in the final analysis dates from the smart British economist. Paul Krugman’s appointment on Keynes these days cannot mislead us over the fact, that also this model needs an advancement in the context of that tremendous crisis – this titanic challenge. But – the NYT-columnist and Nobel Prize winner in Economics from 2008 Krugman does know that himself. 39 3.The well-founded phrase from history of economics here by the smart economist from the country, which along with Germany for sure is the most important “looser of WW2” though: “But in history - in the time after the 18th century war has happened under the deflation economy mainly.” – it hints towards the time frame always becoming narrower – the window for preventing the passage at arms against Iran, which is almost closed – as we’re just already in the midst of that – or as well just on the treshhold to deflation – down to the courage and the standpoint for calculating the position.
After all three questions here primarily are to be posed: -do the US need a new scapegoat in the primaries – in this case Iran – or – will there after the election a) with Romney for sure come the passage at arms, b) with a finally invigorated Obama – and multiply more powerful pressure from the people gradually win a senseful appeasement-policy towards Iran – and particularly also towards Israel in the sense of “change through rapprochement” 40 – or – will also President Obama be bound to attack Iran – a scenario, with which the oil price propably will double, as Nouriel Roubini describes the speedy scenery in a Bloomberg-interview in July 2012 – possibilities of how the wall in front of us, we’re exposed to might soon tumble down on us? 41 -how will crash pushes from China while singular segments of bubbles burst open here and there be absorbed without arriving at overheated panic reactions of hawks – particularly in the West – especially in Israel with its well-fortified – perhaps even militantly herded collective trauma – dominating the collective memory there and the US as protecting power of the Jewish state in the Middle East? -What will happen then with China – the Middle Kingdom? Will it loose just that middle and disintegrate or – will a more decentral structure finally hand the Chinese dragon his soul back – giving the people a voice again and – what will the way thereto look like – bloody or rather moderate – thus – less blood shed but also bringing some gain of soil for the majority of the Chinese people? 42
All these considerations certainly happen against the background of the increasing danger of (civil) wars in the US and Europe going with that, which might break apart both rather more fragile than more stable people’s unions. And - against the background of the development in Afghanistan, which is anything but promising stability facing the withdrawal of Western troops in 2014 – the threat of the “Central- and South Asian major fire” in consideration of Western lack of understanding of the people and the region there.
The haircut on debt and the currency reboot could insofar gain some additional meaning – and additional support as a consequence of one or several medium-weight crash-events.30 The tradition of the Jubilee that way after many hundred years might experience a reanimation:“The main purpose of this institution was to keep the balance between the owners of goods, as it was intended by Moses: In a certain sense the Jubilee should accomplish a renaissance of the whole country. Before the Babylonian captivity the Jubilee doesn’t seem to be noticed, though there are traces to be found at Jes 61,1f EU. Investment liability in real economy feedback loops could be one thing – the very for those, who currently are piling the cotton rags – or their assumed counter values somewhere else – and haircut on debt for those, who don’t have anything or less than anything left anymore of those – accompanied by simultaneous agreement on local minimum wages and covering of basic services. Because – the permanent QE distribution as much as the endless ESM-distribution, which now is announced and everywhere shall be loaded “in small tranches “ on people’s backs will lead to deflation and soon then to (hyper-) inflation – to a “new global economical crisis”. This will take place together with guaranteed profits for cadres and “project developers”, who actually also act as landgrabbers in the kingdom currently lacking a middle. No way out – a creeping course of that scenario, as it is currently attempted won’t be possible for too long any more. 25,32
Far from it – in the course of “global elites” tending more and more evidently to the first scenario, who increasingly abolish “democracy” and basic rights everywhere for preserving power and continuously maintaining equivalent “stability” of business as usual in the global feudal system within the implosion of the Pax Americana and the abolition of basic civil rights in the course of austerity measures in Europe also the Middle Kingdom has more and more taken leave from freedom and basic rights – and from the constitutional aim socialism – particularly after the last constitutional change from 2004, where “legal private property is protected as untouchable”. 33 What instead in which way is protected as “legal private property” in the course of landgrabbing rather being the rule but the exception – that has first of all to be judged by the judge – and powerful interests influencing him or her. “Communism is dead, dictatorship is alive” 34 is the headliner of the Southern German newspaper on October 20th, 2012. “Auhoritarian state capitalism” 34 though in his claims of monopoly is as much endangered by struggling regional and provincial interests and can only be maintained with massive force. That way there are similarities between “corporate capitalism” in the West, where the state is just one participant on the market and where that way in Europe also powerful private companies and the EC apparatus from Brussels together with the IMF increasingly more suffocate and suppress every single state in a classic act of surface lamination. Every single state, that with its constitution and its monopoly of the divisions of government before has been legitimated by the citizens. Because of the fact, that the statealso acts as legislative power and dominates the executive power public welfare is more and more holed and subordinated to powerful private interests. A process meanwhile, which significantly endangers – even destroys existential basics of living everywhere. Water, light and air – and sound don’t know countries or territorial borders – no plot boundaries – they are common goods not for sale – basic rights of all people. They are the core of freedom, equality and fraternalism – and – of the respomsibility for the creation – for people’s life with that world.
Regarding China’s rapid development in this connection once more: Already 1989, when the one writing here travelled the country it was quite evident, that economic liberalization stood uttermost restrictively in opposition to an extremely limited political freedom – particularly after the abatement of the student movement. At that time on my way back I experienced the Soviet Union as the blatant opposite – markets there were destroyed, but Glasnost and Perestroika allowed some utter freedom (of speech). Civil freedoms were acknowledged and kept on prevailing – demand and right of trade though wasn’t to be fulfilled in the stiff and run down command economy weakened by the embargo. Lastly then, when I worked in China between November 2011 and April 2012 the country was at the tipping point. The scandal then around Bo Xilai in March/ April 2012, party leader after all at Chongqing, with 29 to 30 million inhabitants the biggest city of the world at the mouth of the Jialing into the Yangtse 35 then might have marked the turning point.
